A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
My company does vinyl. We use a product called rapped tac to apply and rapid remover to remove

+4 or +5 or whatever for 3M Adhesive Remover. Safe for paint/clear coat and no residue. Body and detail shops aren’t wrong. Just sayin’ ;)

How old is your Tacoma? I’m thinking about doing the same on my 2018 but I’m afraid of a shadow being left on that area.

It's a 2017. Got the glue off but still see some shadowing of sticker. Hopefully some cleaner/wax will take care of it

What did you end up using?

For those that are concerned about using potentially harsh chemicals, peanut butter, and/or cooking oil works too.

The shadowing is likely from differences in UV exposure, I would think.

All the other specialty products mentioned in this thread might work fine, but I’ve never needed a solvent other than these household products: water, soapy water, gasoline, paint thinner, and nail polish remover (acetone).

I’m not sure what type of alcohol you are using, but if it’s ethyl alcohol I would guess it’s similar to water as a solvent, but I have no experience using it in such a way.

wd40 doesn’t make much sense to me because it will leave crud that you have to clean up afterwards and whatever you use to clean up the wd40 could have been used alone. No?

Yep, I used GG to get rid of my TRD Off Road sticker, but had some residual sticker residue on the paint that GG nor 3M would remove.

Get yourself a 3M adhesive remover wheel. It took all of it off. You won't regret the purchase.

FWIW, I've have been advised by more than one paint and detail pro to never EVER use acetone on automobile paint. It supposedly dissolves the clear coat faster than you can say clear coat. Your call of course, but if there's no need to use it, I wouldn't. :)

Thus people often recommend testing a solvent/cleaner on a non-visible location before a major application.

Acetone is usually a last retort. I think I’ve only used it for cleaning fiberglass resin and nail polish. It’s very destructive to plastic

Ha! When you have OCD about your car (or truck or bike or...), there's no such thing as "a non-visible location".

    110%

I used to detail for a living, and unless you want to cut through all layers of paint including the cc, never use acetone on a modern vehicles paint.

Does anyone know what can be done to get rid of the shadowing? Thanks.
