I browsed around and saw the older threads and would like clarification and peace of mind, im also not sure if the tss sensors were improved in newer models.
I have a 2022 and was looking to put on a mild lift (2 inch front 1 inch rear) and 265/75/16 tires. Can anyone give info to this screwing with the tss sensor? I plan on keep my stock grill and want to keep tss (i routinely use adaptive cruise).
If the lift messes with the tss i wont do it and I'll just get the 265/75/16 tires. Will the, although small, different in tire size effect the tss?

Yes, it will be able to work within tolerances, but it will affect how it operates.

The lift will raise the front more than the rear, which simulates a heavy load in the bed. So it will still work.

Ideally you'd get the TRD Heritage grill (the one that says Toyota) which lowers the radar position, and get the radar and camera calibrated once done.

My 2020 with about the same lift numbers (bilstein 5100 with OME 888's and a deaver add-a-leaf in the rear) and 265/75/16 setup has no TSS issues. Stock OR grille.

Further edit: been running this setup for about 2 years-ish now.

Mind sharing pics? I recently did wheels and tires (same size) but now kind of regretting not waiting and lifting first and going bigger.

I have a 2022 with a similar lift but as mentioned above I went the route of getting the Pro grill which lowers the radar housing. This is a simple fix because the Pro is lifted from factory which is why the grill has the housing lower.

If you go that route I'd suggest getting the lift installed a reputable shop and then having the grill installed by a dealership because they'll re-calibrate the TSS as part of the grill install. It's a more expensive route than just doing it yourself -- the grill change isn't hard -- but it'll be properly calibrated.

    21. Had the trd lift done.
Calibration is a fee they like to charge that I don’t think you need.

truck now has 5100 and ome 886 upfront, toytec progressive aal in the rear (removed the trd block). So it’s up about 2” all around and the weight in the front still makes for nice rake.

I have transferred both OR grills and the heritage/pro back and forth and had no issues with the tss. Once I got my lighting/grill situation sorted out to my ocd needs with an xtrek grill, is when I had some tss issues.

so I added some shims and made the sensor level and flush to its mount, even slapped a piece of vinyl on top of the clear radar mount xtrek provided.
It threw the tss for about 200 miles then poof no more light. For all I know it could have been how many times I turned it off and on. But it seems to be fine.

also when the tss was flaky it still activated when someone hit their brakes in front of me.C9BCCD46-C051-44D8-A7D0-55609918439F.jpg

I personally look back and would have gone with the 255/85/16 wagon but this tire works well.

In the future I'll likely go for the above mentioned size or maybe the larger 285 if I feel like doing the extra work (if needed)

calibration becomes a must if the ECU is started up with the sensor unplugged. don't turn the engine on while swapping and it will never know

I don’t think so. I’ve driven with the sensor disconnected.

I’m more than likely going to do the two inch leveling this fall and I installed the new grill with the lower sensor just last weekend. No issues yet
