Installed the OEM power tailgate lock today. Watched a couple videos on YouTube and it didn’t take as long as I thought it would. Purchased it from BAM Wholesale parts and it only took a couple of days to get it. Wish I would have done this sooner…bye bye key!

None to speak of, just enjoying it for the moment.
One of the most practical mods you can do. I feel robbed that it wasn't already installed on my Limited Nightshade model. Toyota is finally incorporating it in the higher end models for 2024 but I think they were cheap to not include it sooner on the Limited and Pro models at least.

Back from chasing tropical storm Hilary in the high desert. At highway speeds, the truck developed a slight vibration, so I took it to the quarter car wash and washed five pounds of sand and rocks out of the inside of each rear wheel. Now, no vibration. Easy fix.

My Taco lands later this week, and this is the very first mod I plan on doing. This, and then removing the air dam immediately after.

I already posted this in the "RCI slider installation" thread, but anyway, I installed some RCI 5* sliders, one side with top plate, the other side without. They shipped me two passenger side slider tops, but I called and said that they would send me the driver's side. Unfortunately, it won't get here before my trip.Tacoma rci left.jpg Tacoma rci left side.jpg Tacoma Rci right.jpg tacoma rci right side.jpg

I hate drilling into my Diamondback Cover but I installed a few of those new low profile anchor plates on the front and back. I have 4 more coming so I can install those on top of the middle hinges.

At least their design is such that you can add/remove the top plates as you wish. It's still not ideal for your trip though.

Will you be upgrading your wheels to something in Gold-Pressed Latium? Lol.

I got a great deal on these custom fabricated low profile bedrack bars. They have welded on flat tabs to mount a tent easily. I found them on facebook marketplace for $75!
I plan to install a 23 zero rtt in the future, but i also got these for hauling plywood etc during our home projects. Im pretty stoked on these. Not hard to install either. I got stainless hex bolts and aluminum rail blocks on Amazon to mount it.

update: i discovered that these are actually “all pro offroad” brand bed bars.

I like the low profile of those. Made specifically for the SwitchBack. I wonder if they will make a HD/SE version? Like I need more tie down points!

I kind of like them w/o the top plate, but there are a few people on this trip that would like to have it. Shouldn't be any problem though.

I installed these on my SE and they also work on the SE hinges.

Did your sliders arrive in decent shape? Assuming you had them delivered. RCI has a Labor Day discount going on right now.

“Specifically engineered for the DiamondBack Switchback, the low-profile Anchor Plates are designed to blend seamlessly with your DiamondBack cover, ensuring uncompromised functionality and style.” I’m not familiar with the SD model.

I used my traction boards and set the dial to full Traction Control and walked right out of the sink hole.

Where'd you get the Pro grille w/ the LR letters?

Sorry that was a typo, you know I meant SE....

Regardless - they work on any cover. What would make them specific to the SE or HD version?

I was quoting the website which states they are specific to the SwitchBack, not the HD/SE. From the website “Not compatible with preexisting Anchor Cleat holes or hinges on DiamondBack HD, SE, 270, or 180.” So yes you could install them on a place where a cleat doesn’t exist just not the existing cleat or hinge holes. That’s the way I understand the description. I saw the OP had mounted one on a hinge plate on his SwitchBack.
