Absolutely no gloves are on nor will I even try to argue with you regarding your using the billet housing and Motorad thermostat.
As I mentioned previously, what I post is not sugar coated. How you interpret my posts, and utilize the information provided is entirely on you. It is your truck to do as you please with, just as my truck did run the billet housing, and verified my increased temps are related to the billet housing and Motorad thermostat. Even after replacing the high flow 180*f originally supplied with a second identical thermostat, I purchased myself from another supplier than the billet housing seller.

Again, you have confidence in your own skill set to evaluate what you deemed best for your own truck. Why should I argue that with you. Simply I will not.

Has anyone tried the 160° thermostat that OP mentions to see if that gets the temps back down to the normal operating range?

I never took your thoughts as an argument. Do you know if anyone has tried a colder thermostat in that aluminum housing? Also what is the 4.0L operating temp range supposed to be?

He is very adamant about no returns policy. See my post a couple pages back. I am still battling with ebay about returning his paperweight.

What about Tig welding larger disk on the bottom of the motorad t-stat to mimic the Toyota or?

While possibly that could work, the risk vs reward if you overheat the engine is not worth it to me.
Besides tig welding a disc onto to Motorad thermostat, the disc depth into engine matters also.

Before deciding to go back to stock setup, I researched many thermostats.

Truthfully, the billet housing is very nice.
Would have been a successful product if the billet housing was a replica of oem, except in aluminum.

I thought about welding together and then machining the inside for a larger t-stat. That idea was short lived though.

Well, lets see. Thermostat in the house controls the air conditioning during the Summer. In the Winter the thermostat controls heat for the housing.

That was not the answer you wanted.

Thermostat, when properly working, in your Tacoma is heat regulating device. Inside the Thermostat is wax pellet. As heat is applied, the wax expands, pushing the thermostat open.

If you take out your Tacoma workshop manual, it should describe the flow path of the coolant. The OEM Tacoma thermostat is a double style. When you start your truck, the main flow regulating portion of the Thermostat remains closed, which prevents flow of coolant to the radiator.
At the opposite end of the oem Thermostat is the bypass disc. On startup, the main thermostat remains closed, while the bypass portion of the Thermostat remains.
This design recirculates coolant within the engine to provide faster warm up and less emissions.

Please follow along. As the coolant temp in the engine increases, the main Thermostat begins to open until fully open. In conjunction, the coolant bypass disc seats and at this point all coolant circulates through the radiator, and heater core if selected.

Since the billet housing and Motorad Thermostat can not close the engines recirculating port, this causes the increased temps. Essentially with the Motorad Thermostat a portion of the coolant is continuously recirculated as if the the engine is still trying warm up.

Realize also, for decades, engines had the Thermostat placed at the coolant outlet, and then to the radiator.
The Tacoma has the thermostat in the return of coolant from the radiator.

If your asking was merely to know what URD does, no I do not. Will say though that, I researched a lot of Thermostats.

Also, be aware, the seller of these billet thermostat housing emphasized much better coolant flow. Unfortunately, the billet housing with a Motorad thermostat installed has lower flow capacity compared to oem, AND the flow through the Motorad Thermostat is reversed from how it was designed.

Well this is all sh----t news.
Bought mine back around Christmas and never installed, (waiting on other goodies) decided a fall install and to start searching the housing up again.
I'm guessing it's a lost cause to message the company.

I tried to get on the band wagon with the housing, as I've lost out and missed things in the past but maybe sould have waited on this.
    Real disappointing, waste of cash.

I’m a seller on EBay, if you purchased your kit on EBay you still have a chance to get your money back within the return time window. Ebay highly favors the buyer(they want to keep you guys happy, so you return to buy more items) over the sellers on the platform.

FYI, moving forward don’t buy anything from a seller who doesn’t accept returns on EBay. As mentioned you can still get your money back though.
