I think bronze wheels with the tan top would look right.

I'm a cheap skate and couldn't swallow the freight of some of the established vendors here. I'm not knocking their products, I just got a nice set installed locally.

Fab Arc in Mesa, AZ. (Couldn't seem to paste.)

Hey guys couldn’t think of a better thread to ask. Highly considering getting a Best Top/Soft topper for my new Taco. Pro’s and cons and any advice and input would be highly appreciated.
Would you do it again ?

I like the black on your Truck
I’m on the fence between black or grey on my silver TRD but I’m leaning towards black.

    Con:
    - it’ll take a little extra work to waterproof the bed (if you want it waterproof).
    - one window - that might make it a little dark and harder to see at night if that matters
    - security

    Everything else is a pro:
    - light/can do it myself
    - stores small enough to store wherever vs a hardtop (put it in the corner of your garage and you’ll forget it’s there)
    - tough material
    - cleans easily
    - cheaper than a hardtop
    - bunch of compliments

Even with my Uptop rack, I can take it out and install it by myself. Of course, I can’t collapse it and leave it in the bed folded toward the front. But if I’m collapsing it, I’m not leaving it there one bit

Someone was talking about bed molle panels. I have some from caliraised. They fit fine as I keep the topper on 99.69% of the time. However, when I need to fold it or remove it, the panels pose a slight impediment but it's just a little friction. If you pull the topper bars perpendicular to the truck as you fold, the bottom plastic hinge (which is what makes contact with the panels) should better clear.

Recently installed the Supertop 2, pretty easy setup, and liking it so far. Perfect for range trips.

Is the 3rd brake light an add on or a DIY?

Whoops! Meant to pose that question to @an_drew03. Wasn’t sure if he bought his topper with a 3rd brake light installed or if it was added on by him or someone else. I’ve been keeping an eye out for some plug and play solutions, but only see DIY. For the record I’m not opposed to the DIY, but I just don’t have the time to dedicate to it.

no worries, the brake light came with the Supertop 2 but I think it’s pretty easy to add to the other soft toppers too. I used this wiring harness to connect it without any splicing.

Thank you for the link! I’ve looked at FBC’s site before and have heard good things. This will be the route I go eventually, when I can find the time.

Well, I just installed a DECKED system, and ran into an issue, others may have, or something you might want to consider in the future. With the DECKED system, you can NOT collapse the cover. I am likely going to modify the DECKED system. Issue is, the bow hinge part, when collapsing it, hits the top of the DECKED system. I might have to get a sawzall and cut a notch into it, to allow for free movement. I havent mapped out where, exactly, it is rubbing yet, to see if it is structural or not (I dont think it is). Anyway, just thought I would share that with anyone who goes the same route I am.

When I had bed bars and a softopper the bars kept me from being able to collapse it. I found that I could pop the topper off of the pins that connect the topper to the rails while the topper was still opened. Then I could fold it since it wasn't attached to the rails anymore, and reattach once collapsed. May work for you and keep ypu from having to cut your new new decked system.

This is something I actually considered. I havent tried that yet. I am working 16 hour days, and its pouring here, so, come Sunday, I am going to look at that. I did consider pulling the pins on it-the top stays in the closed position almost all the time as it is, only collapsing it when I am moving something taller than the cab. Granted, with the decked system, I lost a foot of clearance-but I can still make dump runs without any difficulty. I will certainly look at that as an option on Sunday though, to avoid cutting if I can.
