On the way back from Island Lake MTB trail. The truck and the bike got a bath. Put a coat of Meguires Ceramic wax on it. Not sure how long it will last... But It turned out pretty good I thought.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I had my white commuter car parked under a maple tree for the last 10 days. Two sap removal & washes and I need one more before I get to buff it and re-wax it.

Yikes! Hate sap and spider poop! The walnut trees spit sap too, and throw walnuts at your car double whammy.

My grandmother had a car port. I believe the walnut trees were the main reason

Our whole sub streets were lined with Sugar Maples, two per yard. So whether you park on the street (commuter car) or in the driveway (Taco), it's wash and wax regularly or else. My wife's car was in the shop, so I drove the truck. The car never moved for 10 days.

When I was in college and still living at home, we had the option of parking under a tree or parking in the open. One meant more sap and the other meant more bird poop, but both meant lots of pollen.

We had a tree in Oregon that would spit red sap, my wife and I would joke that it was on its period. There would be red rain drop size drops on the windshield.. It was so hard to get off, but I would take that over bird poop, bird poop eats your paint. Acorns can do a number on your roof too. It’s vital to keep those Pineneedles out of your lower windshield area as well. Especially if you have a sunroof. Pop the hood and get those leaves out from underneath there, that’s how your car gets mold and causes leaks. Had a friend that woke up to 2 gallons of water in their passenger side flooring of their highlander, they never cleaned the leaves or Pineneedles out of the important hidden spots.

Definitely had pine needles. We were surrounded by pine and blue spruce trees. My old Mustang also had a screen below the plastic cowling cover at the base of the windshield, which was very successful at trapping pine needles that were a pain in the ass to remove.

So I’ve been noticing a “jeep wave” with other Tacoma owners. If you’re just south of GR I see you. I’m just too slow to acknowledge you back lol.

I do a little two finger wave, but I’m old and weird.

Same here, but I feel like I’m often the initiator. I see so few Tacomas that if I find one with any amount of work done on it I give them the “wave of acknowledgement”. Which is just a subtle two finger wave and nod. I’m sure if I saw as many Tacomas as I do Jeeps I would be too annoyed to wave every time.

Also in other MI news, I just returned from Drummond Island in the UP… Couldn’t have asked for better weather/time. If you’ve never been, I HIGHLY recommend for anyone interested in trails, rigs and the wilderness!

I am starting to see more and more Tacomcas, over the last few years, on Michigan roads. I usually give the acknowledgement nod.
