x2. I dont get super bright colors but I like the ones that stick out a little bit. I don't want a hunter mistaking me for a deer. lol I normally hike with my bright orange rain cover on my pack during hunting season.
    x2 its gotten big!

Back to our regularly scheduled program... ;)

Got moved in today and went for a quick (3mile) hike with the pack. So far so good! Pretty comfy overall and it carries well. I do think I'm going to shorten the waist straps...once I get everything tightened down I have about 2' of extra strap hanging down. Seems like that could be a safety issue so its going to get snipped.

One major disappointment...my GPS does not fit in any of the pockets :( I can get it in one of the hip pockets but the antenna sticks out and I can't get it zipped up.

A shot of the random crap I carry with me...GPS, tripod, headlamp, pepper spray, 1st aid kit, rain jacket, boonie, socks, Gerber, firestarters, sunscreen, etc...

I read "The Walk" by Richard Paul Evans, the walking part really doesn't start till half way through the book, and the 2nd part comes out this year.

I loved it. I love the out doors so much, and although I hardly get out as much as I would like to I take random MB trips around SA.

I saw the movie "27 Hours" I think it's called, I just love the part were he takes off from his truck and is blazing over the land on his bike. :D

I had heard about that guy a few years back, saw the previews a few weeks ago, and went to see the movie about an hour after seeing the preview. haha

OK...so my backpack doesn't have any fancy little things for the excess straps BUT I checked my waist pack and it has both elastic thingys and velcro loops at the end for the excess straps. The velcro is removable so I stole those from the waist pack and inserted them into the loops at the end of the straps on my new pack. that should keep things tucked away nicely!

I roll mine up and use duck tape to hold them rolled up. I use a few wraps of the duck tape so then I have the tape if I ever need it. I also wrap my poles with the tape several wraps around just in case you ever need it for something.

    Hey Ladies and Bruces....

I had a killer hammock that someone stole from me, and it was years ago, and Im looking for a new one.
Sorry if you have already talked about this, but Im just jumping in on the thread, and didn't read all 800 some posts.

Not looking for anything crazy expensive, just comfy, and easily packable. Also doesn't need to be the lightest thing in the world.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
