Some states have laws where it needs to be unloaded, locked, and out of reach if it’s in a vehicle and the owner doesn’t have a permit.
I think that was how AL did it before the constitutional carry law passed.

I got a five year this time. If you buy the lifetime and ever move out of state they void it.

IT has to be in glove box or truck. Not sure about unloaded. Ill have to dig into it more. But id find that a BS rule if im just passing through SC and i have an AL permit. You get pulled over and they slap you with so BS law that really shouldn't apply to you.

And we have a decent amount of states we can carry in with permit. The yellow ones are typically 21 and older. I assume the map hasn't been updated since some of the yellow states are now CC.

I think some require you to be a citizen of the state to go permitless. I think a lot of those laws still need some tweaking. Too many variables the local pd could use if they wanted to be a pita.

ND is the only state that allows CC where you have to be a resident. You damn near need a degree to figure out where you can and can't legally carry

Just know if your AL resident and you stay within the south except SC your permit covers you. I dont count TX but i think they do accept AL permit as well.

Yeah I think some you’re supposed to abide by your home state but they don’t specifically say if it’s the permitless or with a permit.

Im afraid TX will need their southern state designation pulled in a few years. A lot of problems have been moving to TX from west of there. :anonymous:

The gray area comes with states that are CC like NE(law takes effect 9/02/2023). They never accepted AL permit, but now that they're CC......can an AL resident carry there? I assume so since ND is the only states that is CC for residents ony.

CC is constitutional, not conceal in this case :D

I’ve always wondered how long guns fall into some of this. If I’m traveling in the ambo can i toss a shotgun in and go cross country? I’ve never looked at it much.

I think with long guns, worst case is they have to be unloaded. You can buy a long gun out of state, just not pistols.....so they have their own rules/laws
