God damn it really is new helmet day, mine got delivered today, too! Just got back from a quick test rip around and I'm pretty happy with it. It's a bit bigger shell than my old helmet, so I'm feeling a bit bobble-head-y but otherwise big fan. Came with a dark smoke visor and a pinlock insert, too.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Keep us updated on the Scorpion. Was looking at one. I have all the others, and hope this one is super ventilated.

Plating a KTM free ride is a solid option, or those Zero motorcycles. My buddy street legal converted an Alta. I'd love a free ride.

Supposedly this will come in a street legal flavor eventually.

Never would have thought there'd be power wheels for adults, let alone that they'd cost as much or more than an actual motorcycle. :p

Surrons are a load of fun. E-bikes have max of 1500w to be legal as bicycles. Surrons have 12,500w, with 440ft/lb torque. It isn't a toy, and will outrun most motorcycles on city streets (not you 'tards). I'm glad they didn't have them when I was younger

It has some cool vents above the eyeport on the inside that I think will be really nice to vent out the liner when the visor is open and some big exhausts on the back. TBD how it does long term or on longer rides! Did a quick and dirty unboxing and a few impressions after the first ride.. because of course I did :) (might still be uploading and processing HD/4K for a while)

Thanks!! I love that the Mural is also white for better visibility as well.

I was pretty surprised at how much quieter the RF1400 is vs my Bell Qualifier. Like you, I prefer the shield that doesn't have a latch, but found that opening the latch with one hand was pretty easy after the first few tries.

I'm going to stick with the clear visor. I actually ended up buying the helmet today because of how comfortable the helmet is with my sunglasses on, and I prefer sunglasses + clear visor over a transition visor that costs $200 and loses its effectiveness after a few years.

I like that I can keep the visor up for airflow while riding <20-30 mph but still have my sunglasses on so I'm not blinded, and also being able to ride with the visor up at 60+ mph and not have my eyes dry out from the wind is nice.

Some of my helmets have a clear shield, that I added a vinyl strip across the top to help block/clip where the sun bleeds in. It helped considerably. The strip is a semi-transparent, and allows just a bit of dimmed light thru.
I can tell a difference. Just a thought.

well I was ready to buy one last year - dealer kinda F'd me on it whatever.

My dilemma is I have 3 bikes, I truly don't want to maintain or try to fit in riding a 4th, so the only 1 that would go, I love.

So I want to make sure I'm choosing the absolute best possible (for me) bike - and I THINK the 890R adv is the one?

pic for reference of what I'm torn on getting rid of.

    IMG_6C4759C959A3-1.jpg

all 3 bikes I have kind of stink on the thruway - im building a 2nd home about 1.25hr away that is mainly highway and then some cooler roads..so even though I hate the highway, the reality of how I ride is I need something that can scratch all the itches the duc does..but eat up highway miles.

this one just looks so effing cool, I think ill regret it

I just trashed some rear pannier bars for this.

My Scrambler was fun, I just needed more ground clearance and range.

Oh I do have the Kriega adapter to make their bags into a tank bag. If you want it for super cheap?

thanks - appreciate you. I do have a tank bag I use sometimes already.
photo dump of all bikes for more reference. the Harley though not my cup of tea, RIPs and I inherited it from someone that had passed so its not going anywhere, and the WR is the most fun on two wheels. It really only leaves the duc up for replacement and im sure 890R is better for motocamping trips I do, and highway stuff...very tough decision. also have a car arriving any week now. need a new house to store it all, and more time to use it all lol.

Buy the bike. Put 1000 miles on it and a 1000 miles on the bike on the chopping block. This lets you directly compare how you use each. Make the decision of which to keep after this test period, and sell the other.

Or get a bigger garage and keep them all.

nice! I have done some camping in Allegheny in PA before, near Kane. I did a trip through the finger lakes and Adirondacks and man there are so many KTMs, GSs & Africa twins out there, it's ADV heaven - for good reason. the place is 6million acres of mountain, beautifully paved twisty roads, and off road trails. really makes me want something that can do some serious highway duty
Can't recommend it enough. the South Dakota process is painless, and the bike rules. It ruined the Duc for me because I thought that was the Swiss army knife of bikes...but for all of my around town/commuting/hooliganism - the wr450 is the best bike ive ever had - minus the suspension being intentionally soft from the factory and setup for your average 160lb Japanese man - which I just swapped out for stiffer racetech stuff
