40 seems about right, but its def not a stock suspension. IMO its sharp, I wouldn't be scared of it if the timing cover and coolant bypass aren't leaking. And be sure the white paint looks good.

Carfax is good but not great. It doesn’t show if the previous owner did any of his or her own repairs or body work that wasn’t claimed on insurance or through a dealer.
It’s a tool to use but you also must use common sense when buying a vehicle.
If you don’t know about vehicles yourself ,find a reputable independent mechanic with no skin in the purchase ,pay him or her to do a complete inspection. That way you know for sure .

Thanks to everyone that chimed in with helpful inputs and went and looked at the pictures. I have decided to pull the plug on the deal. The sales guy had told me last night "There isn't a lift on it". I knew I was being deceived and sough you all's help. I will find another 6MT!

I don’t think the sales person is trying to deceive you, I just don’t think they know what they have, and what it is, so you’re not dealing with deception rather ignorance. Carmax doesn’t know everything about every make and if the lift is a spacer left chances are the mechanics just missed it.

Check it over real good, the accident that’s on there is something everyone is going to look at going forward. I know they don’t really negotiate on the price is but in this situation you should use the accident the overspray the lift, everything that’s aftermarket, they’ll use all of these things against you if you were to trade the vehicle in, so make sure you nail them wherever you can.

Thanks, i know how Carmax works. This was Autonation Ford dealer. I spoke with sales guy just now and he states "what if the forum guys are all wrong? I told him you guys all have had Tacomas several years and I trust you. I further told him if there isn't a lift on it that the 285/75/R17 would rub pretty bad per what I read on another site.
