    ***UPDATED FRIDAY MORNING 232AM, AUGUST 25 2023***
The problem is now fixed, although I don't know how! This morning, I went outside and was going to video the screens, to show what was going on. Although as I mentioned, the Maintenance Reset option was still not there, THIS TIME, I was able to SCROLL and it brought up the options that before, were RIGHT THERE on the screen, after hitting Settings. Somehow, this all changed, and I don't know how, because I have not done any update of the software. In any case, the problem has now been SOLVED, as I was able to reset the Maintenance Due message FINALLY. Thanks for all the help! Below is the original post and/or question...

I have a 2019 TRD Sport Tacoma, and usually every 5000 miles the "Maintenance Due" light comes on as well as a notification in the small dash screen in the middle. I know that it is for the oil change, so I usually just go to Settings, and then Maintenance Reset and reset it, thereby clearing it out. Of course, I get my oil changed, etc, but the point is just being able to get rid of that dang message! My truck has right at 59,400 miles now and about 200 miles ago, the Maintenance Due display came up, and I have been telling myself that I need to clear it out, but usually forget until I start the truck and head down the road. Anyway, yesterday, I finally remembered to go in there and do the Maintenance Reset in Settings, but when I went in there, the Maintenance Reset option is not there! Does anyone know what happened and I don't know how it is that it disappeared because I didn't do anything to get rid of it! No matter what, the Option in Settings should be there. I know this has got to be something simple, but danged if I know what happened!

Ok, so maybe this is too obvious but you have tried scrolling down through the whole list, right?

    Edit: or up.

Was the truck running in park or were you driving? I don't believe you can reset while driving.

I have a 2019 Sport and just reset my change oil indicator a month ago, it's in there. I don't remember where now but I was able to find it. It's titled like "Service Reminder" or similar.

OK, I will clarify some of the obvious questions here. Yes, I scrolled or rather, there WAS no scrolling. The only thing that shows up now is "Reset to Default", whereas before, there was the option at the bottom called "Maintenance Reset". C'mon guys, I said my mileage was 59,400, so believe it or not, I am somewhat familiar with my truck now! I have reset this thing many times over the past 4.5 years since I bought it new. I am telling you guys, that the maintenance reset option has just disappeared, and that is what I am wondering about. I honestly think that it is something programmed in by Toyota, to have it disappear as 60,000 miles is upcoming, but when I look at the maintenance charts in the owners manual, there is nothing major going on at 60,000 miles, so I can't figure it out.

If all it says is "Default Settings" then you need to scroll up.

    Yep, ...
... under the Settings menu, there's ten items you can fiddle with; the screen only shows five items at a time, so you have to do some scrolling ...

Funny how everyone is telling him where to find it….

I’ve had the screen glitch 3 times. It’s rearranged all of my screens and even the order of the menu items. I’m out of warranty on a 9 month old truck but the dealer in anchorage said it was probably related to the glitch. Their recommendation was to have the screen replaced and reprogram both the screen and the ecu and accompanying control modules. It was a bit of $$$ so I said no. The last time it glitched I didn’t have a screen for 5 days while driving through Canada. Just 2 pesos.

Well when Op's description of their problem is exactly like the image below, I think I'm fairly confident my response will "fix" their issue.
    20230824_210031.jpg

Pressing the up button on the right-hand side of the steering wheel does this:
    20230824_210102.jpg

You can see that the blue scrollbar has now moved and other options are now displayed.

Well when the op stated that there he was unable to scroll and the only thing that is shown is default settings ( and he can’t scroll) that kind of rules out him being able to scroll now doesn’t it? I too can be snarky

Orrrrr they're assuming they can't scroll because they only see one option.

Yes. This right here is how my Settings screen USED to show up as, but now it only shows Default Settings, and I could not scroll anywhere because there were no other options. NOW, having said all of this, this morning, I went outside and was going to actually video the screens and what I can and cannot do. And NOW, all of a sudden, when I go into settings and it says Default Settings, it NOW ALLOWS ME TO SCROLL, and of course, there is the Maintenance Reset option that before, was right there on the Settings Screen. So I was FINALLY able to reset the dang Maintenance Due message. Something obviously changed since about 5000 miles ago when I had to reset for the last time. I don't know how it happened, as I haven't updated the software or anything, so go figure. But in any case, it is now done. Thanks guys, for all the help. This is a mystery to me as to how this changed, but glad I was able to finally reset it!

Just a small opinion, we are dealing with a computerized system here, like everything in our lives. Sometimes this crap happens, even a tv remote will fail for no reason, you remove the batteries for 20 seconds, hit a few buttons, put the SAME batteries back in and like magic it works. Car and truck systems glitch every now and then.

Nah, nobody above 60k has reported any issues. It's unrelated to that. Also, please use the quote button so I don't miss your messages. ;)

Glad you got it straightened out. If it happens again, snap some pics. You're the first to have something like this happen since the 3rd gen came out 8ish years ago. Would provide some good info for others.

Just want to say that this exact thing is happening to me. The option for maintenance is completely missing from my settings menu. It's not just a matter of scrolling. I have a 2020 TRD OR and have never had a Maintenance light of any kind come on. Thought maybe the option was missing until an oil change is due, but I don't even have the option of "maintenence" available in any menu. Going to try a battery reset and see if the option returns.

Did you end up finding the solution to this? I did my first break in period oil change and I want to reset my maintenance. But when I scroll to the settings it is also not there.
