Hi, I have a 2016 Tacoma with an icon stage 5 kit.

I’m about to install the RXT leaf pack, and I want to determine whether to use option 2 or 3.

Which one should I use according to this weight?

RCI engine, transmission, transfer skid plates 68lbs Aluminum

RCI steel bed rack 86lb (maxtrax, rotopax, spare tire 285,70,17, shovel, hi lift jack, 3 gallon aluminum air tank.

    RCI rock sliders 112lb

    Prinsu roof rack 45lb

    Front C4 hybrid Bumper 120lb

Rear C4 high clearance bumper 150lb

Roof rack led bar. Two led bars behind the grill. Led bar , winch, and 6 led pods in the front bumper.
    Two led pods on hood.

I called icon and Chris recommended option 3. Just wanted a second opinion.

    Thank you so much.

I don’t have as much weight
    I ran option 2
And even with the weight that I do have , vs what the specs say for option 2, I still got more lift than thought. It may settle some . But I ended up with little bit of a rake , but either way, worse you’d have to do is pull them and swap in or add the extra leaf.
I will say they ride very nice. Don’t forget extend brake lines if you haven’t already

    Thanks.
Icon said I don’t need extended brake lines. Were yours tight?

When I was looking into it. Some said no and some said yea. I guess with extend shocks , droop could possibly be little tight. I just went ahead and got them just in case . Once installed you could test your stoop with jack and see how tight they are

And I do need to replace my brake fluid anyway. I’m at 105k and never did it once yet.

    3.

It just gives you more headroom to work with regarding weight. I don’t have a ton of weight, am running stage 3, and have no issues with the way it feels.IMG_1989.jpgIMG_1950.jpgIMG_1890.jpg

Definitely option 3. I started with option 2 and it wasn’t enough support so moved up to option 3, just wished I would have done it the first time around.

Ok awesome, I’m convinced. Option 3 it is.

also, what’s the orange cover on your tailgate? I like it.

    Hey Mike,

You have a pretty awesome taco yourself!

Thanks! I am loving how this thing has come along. Of course ride is a subjective metrics, but I would say I like how it rides. I am running Bilstein the 6120/5160's combo. I found the stock OR suspension was WAY too soft. I hated the nose dive I'd get with braking and how soft the stock leafs ran. My new suspension feels much better supported and appropriate for a truck. My taco is my DD and I don't feel like I am getting jarred around on our bad roads here in the PNW. I've yet to get if offroad much just yet as I just got it installed a few weeks ago, but I am looking forward to a nice shakedown soon, maybe this weekend smoke permitting.

If you look at Icon's guide, you might be tempted to try Stage 2, but just start thinking about what you have for weight even before adding an 80 lb. cooler, tents, chairs, tools, and whatever else or whoever else that you might be riding with. There's a big jump in weight handling capabilities from Stage 2 to Stage 3. My Stage 3 is fairly new and will only settle down as time goes and weight is added. If just feel that Stage 3 gives you some headroom further down the line.

Thanks, it’s made by Mountain Hatch, it replaces the ribbed tailgate panel for a flat surface.

I’m on my right now, but there’s a thread already with many pages, and many people offering their specs on vehicle and lead option/settings. My info is there as well, it’s the thread I visited frequently to come to my own conclusion; which is option3.

Thanks man. I really love how boxy these canopies are. But the lift and tires turned this from looking like a work truck into something a little more adventurous. I am glad I went with the Stage 3 from the get go. This is the stance I was looking for and it doesn’t feel like a Conestoga wagon. Hahaha. I should still have a bit of stance when it’s loaded up.
