I was just up in Hancock NY in June. Made it all the way to Mt Washington, and then to Maine and back to VA. I stayed in way too many hotels though

My little chop job. It’s a Shadow 600 with a suicide clutch/jockey shifter. Pretty fun rig to whip around town. Gets a lot of attention and questions lol

I would love to ride a 450 w/sumo setup. My 701 SM is so much fun, favorite bike to rip the back roads with.

Me having internet at work in no bueno for productivity.......and my job is mostly being on the computer so my bosses are screwed.....LOL.

3 bikes is both a blessing and a curse and I know all about it. I actually just reached out last weekend to someone on FB Marketplace and was going to go look at a 4th bike. A part of me is thankful I drug my feet because by the time I message the seller the bike was already gone. 1986 Yamaha FJ1200 with only 9k original miles, fresh carb rebuilds and synch, valves checked and ready to ride for $3800. That was the bike I wanted back in 1986 but my age then worked against me and the insurance was out of my price range so I didn't get one.

Like others have said if the money is available buy the KTM, keep the Duc for a little and see which one really stirs the soul and makes you want to ride then sell the one that doesn't.

My dad informed me he's leaving his beloved 2004 Road King to me in his will. I already have a 2011 Forty Eight. His Road King is a beauty but I don't know what I'd do with two bikes, especially a second one that needs polishing and riding to keep it in good condition. He's taken meticulous care of it. It'll be a while before it's mine. He says he plans on sticking around another fifteen years.

I'd likely pull the bags and 2-up seat off and make it a bare-bones Road King. I like the classic upright look with whitewalls.

Large portion of mountain bikers hate them as well because the Surron crowd seems to think that clearly marked non-motorized trails also apply to them as well.

I dont know a ton about them to be honest other than mine.
Mine's a 17...I THINK the most current generation started in 16?? with the exception for a couple minor changes, like removing the kickstarter somewhere around 19 or 20. past that IDFK.

that 19 for 6k seems like a steal, they hold a lot of value, makes me skeptical. IF it's clean id do it and expect to spend a few more thousand right away lol. Wheels/Tires will be 1500+, suspension although maybe not necessary depending on your weight and riding style is another 500-1000...before all of that is the fun and excitement of getting all the electrical set up properly to not drain your battery when sorting out all the necessary road legal stuff. You won't regret it

how he knows it has 10miles is beyond me as it doesn't have an odometer lol. unless the trip he never reset ever and you can trust that? I also dont remember, it may tell you lifetime miles when you plug in the gytr thing I haven't plugged it in to change maps in years.

regardless - get it, have valve clearances checked, change oil/filter, air filter and it'll run great, they always do.

I just had valve clearances checked last month after many years and they were 100% perfect, needed zero adjustment. the best part about the bike IMO is you can treat it like a street bike. change oil and go - none of the whacky dirt bike tear down every other day BS

Bounce bars for the Versys. Fairly easy install.
Not sure if the puck should be on the upper or lower bar. Looks better on the bottom but might be more functional on the top. What do you guys think? At the end of the day, it's just plastic and prolly only good for one time use anyway. :p Hoping I never find out.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I have been in your shoes, so I know what you’re saying. I would lean towards the KTM, out of the box the suspension is super sweet, eats up everything I have thrown at it, but stiff enough to comply with the road with no issues at hwy speeds. It’s a snappy motor and revs up quick. I have owned lots of adv bikes in all kinds of sizes. The 890r checks all my boxes for me. I would also be tempt to get a Yamaha t7 and still most likely will own one. I got my guys out on for a used one. The thing that keeps me from getting it is no ABS, which after I was almost killed in a crazy wreck…the ABS is what saved my life.

The 890r has hit the sweet spot for me. Blows my 690r out of the water on the road, and I can handle it in the woods like my 690. I would say that I can even pull
Things off that I normally would be on the 500 for.
The weight of the gas down low has made such a difference in the way it handles at low speeds, makes it very easy to get over obstacles or make tight maneuvers without feeling like it’s gonna flop on you.

There are so many choices, but after I ride them all the racer in me wants all the power and suspension I can have. Oh, the ability to dial in the amount of slip in the rear is crazy cool. It works very well, you have settings 1-9 that give you a lot of adjustment and it actually works.

The hardest part for me getting used to the looks to be honest. I have a love hate relationship with it. Which motorcycles to me are both art and function.
With the recent purchase of the 890r, I gave up the looks for performance. But when you on it, you’re not looking at it, so who gives shit.
