If the truck is locked. The key is in the house or backyard.

If the truck is unlocked, then it may be in the truck also.

Don't miss the backyard, trash cans, and inside the garage on shelves by the door.

Slow down and hard search each room in the house, one room at a time. Hopefully you have a keychain on it that makes it longer than just a key....

I got 2 keys with mine in 2021. The third came months later. Dealer owes you a second key.

Don't panic the daum thing has to be somewhere - check laundry ... pants/ shirts/ bottom of the laundry basket.
Check the bathroom - check all drawers -

You'll find it, and realize it's just where you left it.
Then go get one made until the dealer makes good on the key he owes you.

damn, sorry that sucks, not much you can do other than find that key, or tow it.
I'm not trying to be mean here, but a little real talk- you've had this truck for over two years, had the time and money to modify it, but no time to get a second (or better yet a third key), you know who to blame and it isn't the "swindler"

Unless this person Ubered somewhere last night and then didnt use their keys to enter the house on returning...

I would start by cleaning every countertop/surface/sink/shelf in the house. Rag and spray included. I have found things that way. Next would be laundry. Pull everything out of the hamper, lay it flat on the floor. Insert hands in every pocket. Check the knife/cargo pocket. Next will be upholstery. Pull the cushions off. Flip the furniture upside down. Grab a pair of needlenose pliers and undo the staples on a corner of the bottom dust cloth, look inside the couch frame itself. Flip your mattress and pull the bedframe away from the wall.

Next, truck. Try all four doors. Lay down in the driveway and look underneath the truck on all four sides. Retrace steps to the house. Check the landscaping. If the truck is unlocked, tear into it. Undo the front seat bolts and look underneath. Make sure they didn't slip into the floor vents or the carpet fold that's under there. Take everything out of the console. Check the door pockets. Rattle the doors to see if anything jingles. Open the topper and check the bed. Check the space between tailgate and bed. Climb up and inspect the roof and rack. Ive left keys on the roof rack and forgot about them before.

Next, trash. Empty your cans piece by piece. All of them. Look around and behind all of your toilets. Start pulling your hardwood furniture- either move, flip, or rake underneath. Same goes with appliances. Pull your fridge if it butts against a countertop. Pull your washer and dryer. Get in the garage, pull everything away from the walls, then methodically put them back. Still no? Empty the master closet and then methodically put it back together. Get your rake and drag it across your lawn. Get a plastic tool and probe the seam between floor and baseboard.

also check under the floormats and seats in the truck. you said you're locked out, so the keys are probably inside. i would get a locksmith to open the truck and the keys probably fell on the floor when you were getting out.

You need a key atleast cut and chip registered to the ECU to correctly to program a new chip. i bought a set of keys from ebay with the right chip, used techstream to program and in 15 min i had 3 sets of keys. You should be able to get your key cut at the dealership for cheap using your VIN (bring your title or proof the vehicle is yours, loan etc.) but you cant program it without a master registered key. You're gonna have to buck up and get this done at the dealership

but i gotta ask... did it never run through your mind when you looked at your Only key and say to yourself if i lose this im fukt and why didnt you do something about it then.

my GF laughed at me, for putting airtags on our keys (added her tag to her phone). We have used her $28 tag to find her $300-400 keys,,,,, three times now!
I need to get her another- the last time,, I found her keys in the parking lot across the street (next door to her friend's apartment) somehow the tag fell out close, but the tag was ran over,,, but not the keys :D

I also recommend, when down on the ground / floor, to use a flashlight, practically on and parallel to the ground. Shine it so that it was reflect light back at you if something is on the ground, and will cast a shadow behind said object. I've found many a dropped screw on the floor (ones that have rolled away) using this method, since the reflection and the shadow are much easier to see than the screw itself.

My wife loses her phone multiple times a day and when she had a physical key (not a push button start) she lost her keys almost as often.

Did you leave them in the tailgate? or your topper lock?
I know someone else who frequently leaves them there.

True story - I never thought about it until my ex put us in a situation. Former in-laws live about three hours away, which we visited on the regular. During one of those trips she borrowed the truck to hit up a jogging trail... and proceeds to lose the keys. We spent five hours scouring that trail for any sign of keys. No luck. We wound up borrowing a car to drive all the way home, finding the spare set of keys, driving back, and then driving home with my truck. It would have been a very expensive lesson if we couldn't find the spares that weekend.

I think about that a lot when I go on road trips now. All excursions have a plan for securing the keys. There has also been a dedicated, labeled container in my safe for spare keys since that day.

    1. Go on fbmp. Inquire key hack service.
    2. Some shady guy will repond, make sure to tell him have cash in hand
    3. He shows up, let him do his things. Don't ask questions. Don't get friendly.
    4. Extra $50 he will cut the keys and program for you.
    5. If your truck go missing the next day, well then that's what you've get for not going to the dealer.
