Consider using a lock out style switch.

 

It was more from a repair aspect
It is not like you can just order Saab parts + no aftermarket really for em..
Maybe if you had spare car to part out?

There are a few around where I live - older, well kept - I figure if you can maintain them properly then yea but if something breaks or you hit a deer, then what?

From a chassis standpoint, good point. My project for it was to chop off the rear end and turn it into a T-top, fiberglass almost everything, and gut the insides so wouldn't need to worry about that problem haha. The engine though is shared with the Cobalt SS, so parts a-plenty
