Need advice, I'm having a hard time committing to finishing my SOA setup. I have the AG hangars, shackles, U402 S1, and some 2.5 foxes in stock location. I have the AG relocation brackets, not installed, and want to run the DK bump stop kit. Has anyone used this combo? I'm trying to stay SOA and gain some up travel with the frame notch and switch to hydo bumps. The goal is to be able to rally Ocotillo washes, while also being able to use the truck bed if needed. like, haul my buggy or my dirt bikes with some camping stuff to Ocotillo.

Gaining up travel by notching your frame on SOA is a not such a great idea. The leafs will be pretty far into negative arch and wear out pretty quickly eventually negating the load capacity you want for hauling your gear.

Didn't think about that geometry. Thanks for the reply, looks like I'm just gonna run what I have.

not going to work. The springs will go negative even without the frame notch like @Airdog mentioned. You can add hydros to an SOA setup but they will engage after only a few inches of travel.

never seen that before it looks like a one off custom done by The Truck Shop. Built Right is their in house brand. You’re probably thinking of the JD Fab LCA pivot kit

454 out of (now) Arizona did that and it’s all just gussets on the stock mounts. The Built Right is the Truck Shop like @Evenflow said and looks like they removed the front cross member to replace with their own fabbed cross member.

I'm sure its been brought up before.... but does anyone know their approximate wheel rate/ ride frequency?

for some reason I want to figure out getting to ~.7hz front ~1.1hz rear

Maths show I should be around 1.4hz front and 1.6hz rear (current leafs are super non linear actually tho)

The wheels don’t move in a linear manner as there’s a unique set of zones for each of the bypass tubes controlling shaft speed in each of them. Typically references are made to what stack of shims makes for a good baseline for different general setups and they are tuned from there.

Actually my question is more about Spring Rate than the dampers

absolutely I know that the shock tune makes a world of difference off-road, but the natural frequency of the corner is still something I'm curious about

The picture is a 4 runner, it was also modified to use a land cruiser rack, yes it was a one off from Built Right or The Truck shop. May be going this route for my Tacoma.

What backspacing is everyone running with their kits? Decided to hold off on other expenses and go wheels and tires since I’m about due for new tires and need to get 35s out of the way

How’s the tire rub? I’m assuming 35s? I have the total chaos front end too and currently on stock 16s and 1.25 spacers, looking to remove the spacers all together since I’m finally buying the right rims for this truck now.
