What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

So I haven't done this yet, but wife says that black Tacoma letters in tailgate should be next upgrade. I am overthinking this as a Tacoma newbie ...

Do they last in 100+ temp? And is it more difficult to clean around the raised letters?

3D looks way better. Mine have been on for almost 2 years in 100F weather as well. No issue cleaning them.

Going to be a personal preference here and everyone is going to say something different. IMO the 3D type is trash lol. Love my Eyecatcher matte black ones. Been on for 2 years now and in AZ so you won't find a harsher environment. They look new still.

 

LED factory mart DRL/Turn signal
On the installation video I watched, the guy had to splice some 50w 6ohm resistors on both sides. 1 for yellow and 1 for black to prevent hyperflashing.
Either the company fixed the issues he was talking about or he has underlying electrical issues because I installed as is and they work properly.
My only complaint is they are always on if the truck is on. It said to connect red to ACC or INJ
Must be a way around that so they are controlled by drl column switch.

Since you added these to a factory circuit (piggybacked) you should not need to add any resistors to prevent hyperflash. If you were replacing your oe signals with these then you might need to add resistors as the truck wouldn't sense the resistance from the factory incandescent bulb.

 

Installed Powerbass 6x9’s in the front doors. I have the JBL system. Noticed a marked improvement over stock. Now I just need to find a 2ohm tweeter replacement.

Yes breaking in is important on most speakers also. Sometimes I would leave mine on at a low volumes for a day or two to speed the process up . Then gradually play them a little louder
Some Kef Ls50 metas took a long time to break in along with some Dynaudio ‘s I had also.

 

Dobermans are Awesome! Very noble and protective also but yet my Red Dobie had a Scooby-Doo side to him lol. I miss him very much he was a loved family member. He was the runt of the litter but ended being the biggest one. I knew it though because when he was a puppy he had huge feet and a big head and this little body lol . He was very very protective of my son also especially when he was a new born. A good friend of mine tried to enter my house when I was in the back yard and he wouldn’t let him come in the house my friend said he was vicious and scared the hell out of him lol . He knew him to but when not let in the house by me it was a different story. Friend called me and said what happen when he attempted to open the door thinking it would be ok since he knew my dobie.

 

Finished up the air compressor with a custom switch harness.

 

Monkeying around with getting the heater installed.

New cap should be here in a few weeks so I had to find a different water system. Let’s see how this works.

 

Is their set up constant power or is it ignition on dependent?
