The 66s were my favorite of that era of Chevelle.

Had those on my flatbed when I got it. The shock eyelet bushings were both gone on the front too. Fun times.

I've had a CT scan and MRI. I guess I'm not that claustrophobic because the worst part about the CT was the contrast stuff they injected into me. Felt like I had to piss and burned a lot.

Holy shit, the new stick is WAY more controlled

    Microsoft Flight Simulator Screenshot 2023.08.25 - 21.43.06.18.png

Intentionally flying between 3-800 ft and it's so easy maintaining full control; based on calibration there's over 65,535 points per axis which is nuts

Makes me curious how different it is vs mine. I forgot to mention, the market place has an audio upgrade for the C172, highly recommend. Only a few bucks and just makes it a more enjoyable plane.

Nooo shit I love flying it. Never went into the marketplace much to see audio upgrades so I'll definitely pick it up today.

Never having used anything else other than the Thrustmaster I can only say this -

The Thrustmaster "springs back" to center when you let off the stick causing the stick to slightly bounce. Sure I can adjust the tension via a screw at the bottom of the base but movement in-game isn't as precise.

When flying, I feel like I'm constantly having to "adjust" my plane which is why all my flights were no more than half hour. Slight roll, then again, then back again, etc.

The VKB came with different springs and when I first set it up, I felt some heavy resistance and immediately swapped it to their lightest spring set (3 variations, plus many extras in each variation). Once you get the springs with your desired tension installed, you can work on changing the dampening which controls how quickly it resets back to center down to not at all.

X axis and Y axis each have their own adjustments for games like space sims where you want X axis returning to center, but Y axis to remain "stationary" wherever you set it like a throttle.

Not only that, the smallest of movements actually translates into a tiny movement in game, which is why I say it feels so precise. Best part being that I'm not having to move my stick much due to the over correction that would happen so often on the Thrustmaster.

Having multiple hats on the joystick is great too as I didn't even know about nose wheel steering. I use my top right hat just for that when taxing.

The center hat is for looking around both in cockpit mode as well as exterior.

Push button up top is for toggling between cockpit and exterior view.

    Pinky button controls parking brake.

Index push button on the front/side is for my brakes.

I have buttons I've yet to program cause I have so many buttons but the more I use it, the more use I'll have for those remaining buttons.

Now I can't wait for my throttle to arrive.

Damn, that was an essay sorry

Was trying to keep it short but as I answered, more and more differences stood out.

Had a few. Basically fell asleep once.
    Head or feet first?

Edit: Nevermind, I read. Feet first is definitely a much easier one. Did you get music in your headphones? I asked for a towel on my last one (head) sorta like a sleep mask.

Yeah, asked for some Pink Floyd or Dire Straits but only got some '80s mishmash. I didn't matter though, couldn't really hear it. That machine was too loud.

Got the results back last night (that was fast), damaged cartilage and torn meniscus in two areas. It looks like some type of surgery is going to be needed.

Ah man, sorry to hear it. Yeah the results are pretty quick, which is nice. Surgery isn't fun but hopefully it'll be something that isn't super complicated for you.

Yeah they pump music through the big communication headphones where I've had mine, but its sort of like its playing far away in a tunnel haha.
I only asked for something to go over my eyes this last time because it was another head one, and I thought if it was dark it would help and it definitely did. If I have to have another I'll certainly do that again.
