That used to be the dream. It has changed with all the wildfires, need a cabin with wheels on it. ;)

We hear so much about the limited range of the Lightning, what does the E-Transit go to when they are loaded with cargo?

I’d be happy with a nice 4WD van.

I haven’t heard anything about them. I assume they are marketed towards plumbers and electricians that aren’t putting on a lot of miles each day.

Reading this as I am walking out the door, as the wife just informed me she needs a treat for getting through the first week of school and wants to go get ice cream.

Googled and this popped up. Didn’t watch, but it must be good since it has a fat guy in a tied-died beaver shirt and skinny geeky dude, and it isn’t TFL…

Edit: had a chance to watch it, while eating some Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food…good information. Like these guys will have to watch more of their videos. They have a couple of the Lightning.

Me too, be great for a bike hauler over a pickup with a topper. Bit light on towing capacity, which much be ok…talking with the better half, she doesn’t want a huge camper.

We had a VW Westy for 8 years, miss it. Be cool to get modern version of it. Can’t decide which I like better truck camper or van…

That’s a nice one with the Quigley 4x4 conversion. That is my snowboarding and road trip dream machine. Must be big bucks though.

With low range too. Out here it is Quad Van, supposedly be a little better than Quigley.

Yeah those conversions aren’t cheap, though building it out yourself wouldn’t be too difficult. Me I don’t need anything too nice as it will beat to hell hauling bikes. Insulate it and bolt some drawer type tool boxes to floor for storage and a counter and call it good.

Where's the airdam? I know this is a carry over from the Tundra. The TRD grill that is designed like a heritage grill but has the sombrero instead of TOYOTA. It's Toyota's way of saying we know what the customer wants, but we won't give it to you with out paying more for it.

    It's not on the truck.

The TOYOTA grill has always been reserved for the pro.

Toyota could add it to the ORP. I don't care that it's a Pro exclusive feature all 4Gs should have gotten a heritage TOYOTA grill emblembfrom the factory. Pro could have gotten the light bar version. I'm leaning toward an SR, if I ever get a new Toyota truck. The TRDs should all get a heritage grill.

It should also have 400hp and tow 35000lbs and fit in my garage and get 40mpg and flex like a KOTH buggy and be mechanically simple like a ‘68 LC and have a diesel and have ventilated seats and airplay and also washable rubber floors and a four speed and manual hubs and 8-way power seats and be quiet as a Cadillac and ride rough like a truck should

    Everybody wants everything.

Looks a helluva lot better without that ridiculous spoiler on it.

Really? a grill that doesn't cost any more to produce than the other. Toyota the TRD grill is almost there it just has the sombrero instead of the letters.

That ORP is probably almost a $55k truck. The Pro and TH have enough to seperate themself from the rest of the trucks. They don't need an exclusive grill badge. 4G coming out of the gate with a heritage grill would show customers that Toyota is proud of their 4th generation Tacoma.

Yeah toyota couldn’t be “proud of” their 4g truck without that grill at the exact trim level you want it.

iirc the factory Transit is more based off the Explorer AWD system than it is off the F150, believe companies like Quigley and Quad Van use F150 components.

While I like the Transit and Sprinter, the 4WD system isn’t as robust as a 1/2 Ton truck. The other thing for me is it is basically a cargo trailer with an engine, do I really want gas fumes from the bikes where I sleep? Midsize or Half Ton with cargo trailer, is cheaper more capable option. Love the “idea” of vans, however always come to that conclusion when researching. A Tacoma with a wedge camper, and a 5X10 cargo pretty much does the same thing for what I need.

That is hawt, gotta say the 4th Gen is growing on me. Now just make that a DCLB.

lol! Taint that the truth! And for $25K too.

I like the sombrero logo, also like Tacos, both truck and food…so it seems fitting.
