Then you have never been to Mexico where i had to pay for toilet paper. Put a coin in the slot and it gave you 4 small squares.

Yup. I'm a dinosaur in that I own about 1500 CDs, about 300 movies, and about 300 games. 2 of the 1500 CDs were burned, as they weren't released physically so my buddy got them on iTunes and copied for me.

Though I will admit the advantage to those other things is storage in my house of the physical versus the electronic version taking up less space. That said if a service stops showing a particular movie/show I can still watch my DVD.

Yup. Totally. It's similar to the "sin tax" on tobacco and alcohol, people complain but still pay. Give an inch...

And now everyone wants it all and wants it now. Back then people either lived with what they had, rolled up their sleeves and DIY'ed. Not to mention the Internet wasn't a thing 30 years ago. Chicken/egg perhaps there.

No doubt the kiddos are different. I bet many 18-25 year olds wouldn't be caught dead driving my single cab, 2WD, crank windows, single DIN CD player truck. Not good enough for them.
