When do you guys estimate will be the last allocations to dealerships of 3rd gens.? I assume production must be transitioning soon.

When I was waiting for my original "allocation" in 2022 they stopped at end of October and mine switched to a 2023. Maybe things will go deeper in November -December since it's the end of the run. Who knows.

Makes sense. Kinda sad to see the iconic 3rd gen stop. Years flew by I remember like yesterday watching the 3rd gen released

Glad I got one, grew up driving my father's 1990 Toyota manual extended cab 4x4. That was a great truck it could go threw anything.

4th Gen doesn't start full production until December so you should still have plenty of time to still get a 3rd

I thought you had to wait a few years after production ended to declare something iconic.

If you are thinking of buying one you'd p3be better of waiting to see whats left of 3rd gen inventory after the 4th gen goes on sale. You might find a better deal, or not.

I think a Trail Edition or a Pro would be the best trim for that. I don't know if any more solar octane pros are in the works, I haven't seen any listed in a while.

Because one meaning is that it was something that was in the past that set strong trends that folks wished they had back.

Like Elvis, the Beatles, cheap gas and less government.

Everyone likes old GTOs, Chevelles, Mustangs and other American Muscle. Many of those are considered Iconic.

In this forum, that would be Toyota trucks (prior to being a Tacoma) and maybe 1st gen Tacomas.

Not sure there will ever be a significant retro craving for a 3rd gen. Nor will it be recognized that it was a significant trend setter.

My interpretation of the page is that if you order from a dealer now until Sep 11, you will get your 2023 truck in Jan 2024 (and it'll instantly suffer a year's worth of depreciation when you drive it off the lot with 5 miles on the odometer).

Orders after Sep 11 will be 4th gen 2024 models.

Except no one can order a Toyota, they can take an incoming allocation though.
