I think it would have been a nice gesture, and well received even by people who don't like it. Really a missed opportunity IMO.

It does cost more. I helped set up the process to make the tundra grill. Adding a bunch of individual letters vs the one logo means a different tooling/machine plus more time and floor space.

Soooo….just did a fill up, waited until the gas light came on at 22 miles left. At the fuel stop this tank went 392 miles, computer said had 13 miles left to go, could have push it to 405, but couldn’t find a gas station at a distance within the mileage that would get me close to zeroing out. Took 18.41 gallons, equals 21.29 mpg. Double check my math though.

Have been doing a fuel log since I bought the truck, worst being 14 mpg, best 24. Computer says best was 23.7.

Last few tanks have been fairly consistent.

That grill is niche cult item that only relatively few people care about. The vast majority of Tacoma owners are not on this site and couldn’t care less what the grill looks like and don’t know or care what a heritage grill is.

Every FJ Cruiser came equipped with a heritage grill, 40th anniversary 4R has a heritage grill. Everyone knows what a TRD Pro is. I seen an old dude with a stock 3rd gen Sport with a Pro grill, that's OEM and you know was purchased at the parts counter when he bought the truck. Toyota trucks from the 90s had the word TOYOTA spelled out on the grill. It's just an emblem no reason it can't be used on all Toyota trucks. The LC 250 has the same emblem on the grill.

392 miles on a single tank? Teslas have a range of 300 miles on a single charge, and can run for ever how can anyone in a gas vehicle keep up?

Don't tell the news anchor who thought the police couldn't keep up with the Tesla they were chasing because their cars are gas. That gas vehicles have greater range than ones that run on batteries.

Yep, and those are commuter miles. Could extend if further it if it was strictly highway.

While I could certainly make a Tesla work for commuting, but it wouldn’t save me any money. I did the two car thing for a while, even used to commute on a motorcycle that got 50 mpg, never saved me any money.

‘21. From the Home Screen, hit the latest mpg/range section, that will take you to trip information, then hit history. Computer’s range estimate is always off what I get actual. mpgs are with a couple 10ths though. My commute ranges from 40-55 mph depending which road I am on. Traveling to trailheads those roads are 55-65 here, less stop and go, can bump up the mpgs a little more.

That's odd that yours says 23.7 best also, wonder if its a software thing. When l got my truck it had 1 mile on the odometer and with that screen up it had 23.7.

You can do well over 400 miles, that fill up held a little under 19 gallons, so there was probably 50 miles left.

I reset it when I first bought it, have achieved over 24 before (hand calculated) but the computer didn’t change.

That was with the stock 245 tires, now with the 265/75 ATs, can’t seem to crack 24 again. They are Yokohama G015, which aren’t super aggressive. Truck sees mostly pavement and gravel roads on the weekends. No need for an overly aggressive tire. Feel they work better than BFGs, especially in the snow.

Nice! Would like to try and Cramer it just see how far it actually will go, but don’t want to chance it. We ran one of our diesel Bobcats dry once, priming the fuel pump is a bitch.

I went a mile or so below zero after the warning, but wouldn't want to go much further.

My truck is tapped out at 320 or so. Usually can get to 280 or so before the light comes on, 300 when the truck tells me I am at Bingo fuel, and then the hidden 2 gallons beyond that. So 325-350ish if I am lucky and in the right situation. At 351, I am probably walking to the gas station though.

19.4 MPG best I have ever gotten per a tank. I have gotten as low as 154 miles on a tank before though lol.

Today I could have mile zeroed it if I tried harder, but my fuel points are up on the 31st. So had to go cash those in. Saved 80¢/gallon, wow! /sarcasm…

My first gen is lucky to get 265, 18 gallon tank which is actually 15 if you want to keep from cooking the fuel pump, was absolutely thrilled when I saw my 3rd Gen is getting close to 400 consistently. At least spring-summer. Winter with Blizzaks, mpgs plummet to 16-17.

Are you lifted and bigger tires?

I hate my payment but I’m in the 600+ club on this. It’s real nice. In a few years I’ll come back to a midsize when the kids are out of my vehicle.

It would probably cost Toyota $3 more. Don’t worry though, they will sell you one for $600. Personally I’d rather have no badges at all.
