MOS mounting plates are infamous for lacking sufficient thread depth (number of engaged threads). Two options: you can try more Loctite and witness marks on the screws or go with an aftermarket mounting solution like the CH Precision mounting plate.

Ever think about buying a milled slide? Check out black Phoenix customs! He’s got some nice ones for not bad money! And it’s milled no plate.

Well, i stand corrected, after some tinkering, it appears the sight is tight and the MOS plate is loose. I will disect, inspect, loctite, retorque and witness mark, then go from there

The MOS plates are known to suck. Get a quality plate and avoid the hassle.

Y’all know more about this than I do. I can say I’ve only put about 400 rounds through the 17 since the Eotech was installed and so far it’s all tight

Would recommend the Forward Controls OPF plates for Glock MOS-to-whatever. I have about 1000 on my Glock with an SRO on it. No issues.

I had a running bet with an Army buddy on how long I could go without cleaning it. It went all summer and thousands of rounds without a malfunction. After a mercy cleaning it became my go-to full sized carry gun. It’s been dropped in the rocks, fallen off my truck, and been submerged between embarrassingly sporadic maintenance. One of the most reliable, easy to handle, and durable handguns ever developed. Glock 17A8E6F058-6F9E-4D8F-B04D-0DCA9B6490E5.jpg

New Glock 19 Gen 5 10rd Mags, and 30% of the time they catch in the magwell and won’t go into the gun. Anybody have this issue with the “new” 10rd Glock 19 Gen 5 Mags? I had some older ones (sold them cause I moved back to Oregon, and bought new ones for traveling through Washington state) that did not have this issue. The new ones are stamped with 2274-02 on the back. Pictured is the issue, when I try to put the mag in the gun 30% of the time it catches and won’t go further than pictured.

Can you take a pic of the mags themselves? And the inside of the magwell?

Do you have a mag that doesn't catch? Compare the body of the good mag to the one that's not going in?

I only have 15rd Glock mags to compare to. From what I can tell the lip of the 10rd is more intrusive on the interior right side of the mag(from the photos point of view) but other than that they look pretty close to the same.
Left is 15rd and Right is 10rd. Also Magwell photo.
Edit: should also be noted that I’m left handed and I have the mag release switched to the right hand side of the Glock (stock is left hand side for right handed users).

I don’t see anything jumping out however without the gun in hand it’s difficult to diagnose

I’d seek out a factory certified Glock armorer who can actually manipulate the gun in person

Yeah I reached out to Glock and they want me to send the mags and firearm in for inspection. It just feels like it is catching on the release, instead of manipulating the release and sliding past it (like it should).

Well I somewhat solved the issue. I took a nail file to the 10rd mag (already opened so vendor wasn’t going to take it back) and made the lip look more like the 15rd. The 10rd lip was flat and more intrusive, whereas the 15rd was angled and not intruding. No catching on the mag release when inserted anymore.
    Before: 10rd on the right.
    IMG_1003.jpg

Tried taking after photos, but they don’t really do it justice. Still, it works now.
