Alright. Forgive me for I am new to vehicle mods and I am trying to understand all of the infinite suspension combinations and weighing pro's and con's, but quite frankly it seems like I read something and two post later someone contradicts every point. So if someone could help spell it out for me like a child I would appreciate it.
I have a 2022 TRD Sport on BFG K02's 275 70/r17's. It is 90% Pavement princess with the occasional off-road to a camp site or something.

I would like a 2" lift front and 1.5" in the rear. I was originally thinking just getting a 2" Rough Country Leveling Kit for the front and a 1.5" Icon AAL. Would this setup be good to go?
I have also been looking at Bilstein 5100's and Westcott. I'm not looking to drop $1000 into a whole new suspension, but I also don't want to cause issues down the road. Something about UCA's, Coilovers, and ECGS Bushings? The more I read into the weeds, the more I'm lost.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Well fortunately for you, I used to run the 2” rough country leveling kit up front with the Icon AAL in the rear! I still have the Icon AAL in the rear but I switched from the rough country level kit to the Bilstein 5100’s all around.

A lot of people hate spacer lifts (which is what the rough country leveling kit is) but I think they’re perfectly fine for a pavement princess. I ran that kit on my previous truck which was a pavement princess and then on my Tacoma for about 30K miles and I had absolutely no problems.

The bilsteins are a great option but if you have a shop do the install you would probably be looking at close to $1,000 total if you include parts and labor.

I would say if you only do very easy trails and it’s not often, the rough country kit would be just fine. Some people will disagree but I can tell you from experience that I never had any issues. I switched to the Bilsteins before I did any serious off roading. Also I still have my stock UCA’s, stock bushings and stock coils. Driven all over the country and on all kinds of trails and I’ve never had a single issue!

I wish I could say my truck was done but I still have alot left that I want to do. I know I would need to regear if I went up in tire size but I think that money would be spent better elsewhere for my truck since I don’t do any real rock crawling.

@Brehm14A Yeah no problem at all! Where are you located? I still have my rough country leveling kit, it’s just collecting dust in my basement.

Well...right now somewhere in the Middle East, but home for me is Ft. Campbell. If you'd be willing to sell it I would pay for S&H of course. Just PM me if you are interested!

I had a chance to get out on the trail today. Beautiful weather too, can’t beat 65 degrees and sunny + 4 wheel drive.

Today’s trip was about 220 miles total with about 20 of those miles being on the trail.

I envy you from my office!

The look with your wheel offset and camper shell is exactly what I'm going for... camper shells are far too expensive and therefore I check marketplace every few days praying one will pop up

Hahah yeah they are super expensive but worth the price if you use it enough! Buying a used one is a great idea. I only ordered a new one because I wanted a lot of specific options.

The wheels are 16x8 with -10mm offset if that helps at all.

I also installed the WeBoost Drive Reach earlier this week on my truck. It works great and I’m really happy with the purchase.

Pardon all the dog hair in the carpet, I spend alot of time on the road with the pups.

I purchased the version with the magnetic antenna, not the overland version. The external wire is routed into the rear passenger door and behind the rear seats, then under the floor mat. The box (as the experts call it) is mounted under the front passenger seat, I removed the side panel to install it in front of the rear-facing vents.

The internal antenna is mounted next to the sunglasses holder on the roof. The cord is routed from under the passenger seat, under the floor mat, up the A pillar liner and behind the headrest.

Today was the first time I did a drive with the WeBoost other than just daily driving stuff. It was also the first time I’ve never lost service in the middle of a state park. I was extremely excited about that haha it was nice not having to worry about downloading offline maps, etc.

Nice! I have the weboost on my short list right now. Just having a hard time figuring out exactly how I want it configured and the price is hard to swallow too. Overall did you find the install easy? Also curious if you hardwired yours?

Yeah the price is definitely absurd. That’s one of the reasons I got the model with the magnetic fin antenna, because it was a bit cheaper.

I did not hardwire mine, I just have it plugged into the cigarette lighter. Install was stupid easy. I’m as mechanically inclined as a small child and I did the whole install in like 40 minutes. A lot of that was just trying to decide where I wanted to mount stuff.

It’s really just a game of hiding wires. The magnetic fin does make the install easier because you don’t have to figure out a place to mount it, it just sticks to the roof. I also wanted the fin because I plan on stowing it inside the truck when I’m just doing my daily driving.
