I could be wrong but i feeel like that has been an influx of younger, less experienced drivers in the rigs since the lockdown.

Truck and a motor home got tangled up. Person in the motor home died. Hopefully the cameras captured what happened. These influx of truckers now a days can’t drive worth a shit. To a point now they are doing 80+ on this stretch of I40 through Flagstaff and it’s a 65mph section

That is the sad part, I forget the stat but a major accident involving a semi is all but guaranteed to have fatalities.

I feel for the guys hauling a load and trying to get home to their families and I try my best to have patience.
But the amount of stupid and downright dangerous things I've seen trucks do since covid has definitely increased.

I really hate the ones who blow through town without putting on chains when it is snowing and then we wind up with this.

What’s also scary is that you don’t need a special license or test to drive the massive coaches and 5th wheel combos that i see on the road.

How about an 80 year old that just bought a 40' diesel pusher pulling a toad driving it like it's a Cadillac. Scary stuff.

Learned that the hard way when an old guy smashed into the back of my then-gf's CR-V on the I-17 south, almost punting us directly off of the road. Guy didn't see me slow down (slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting a guy who was running across the freeway to assist with a different accident) until it was way too late. Speed delta of about 50 mph.

Just this past weekend a semi with a trailer (could only hope he was hauling something like insulation in there) passed me going 80 DOWN the section of I-17 near Bloody Basin/Badger Springs. Some ballsy, stupid stuff, cars all around.

What's your go to weather station app for accurate weather?

Apple weather saying 50% chance of rain/thunderstorms and Weather.com saying 3% for Flagstaff tomorrow...

Also am I thinking that the west side of Flag particularly Bellemont area would get less precipitation than East side off of 89 due to the mountains?

    Cheers!

Its monsoon season in Flagstaff. Anyone who says they know for certain what is going to happen is lying.
Basically the only thing worth looking for is dark clouds in the sky

I was a CDL over the road driver for years, what I see on the road now are a lot of foreign drivers. Anyone who has been on the roads overseas will understand...

Removed some stuff, added some stuff.
I worked for a moving company in Tucson for years, a LOT of the OTR haulers were from India, or the Middle East some where. This was back in 2012! When I was working part time at Lowe’s in the receiving department we had a ton of swift drivers coming in…all foreign. And this was much more recent.

My pops is a belly dump operator and has done OTR in years past.
Having grown up in close proximity to the industry through my dad, I can attest to the influx of foreign born drivers out there.

Went to Williams, Grand Canyon south rim and Flagstaff yesterday. Coming down into Verde Valley a trucker was weaving in and out of traffic and tailgating everyone. Smoking his trailer brakes the whole way down.
Otherwise, it was a nice trip!

    Not sure point of article….
But when drivers are like that. Honestly an easy 911 gets Sheriff and ADOT attention. I wish AZ would implement an easy *adot number to report incidents like that.

Since Junior closed up muffler magic anybody have a good exhaust shop they'd recommend? Talked with the guy that worked with Junior but haven't heard anything back from him about doing a small reroute behind the transfer case.
