    Have a 3rd gen 2gr v6, w/vacuum pump version motor for sale:

Came out of wrecked truck with 105k miles. Swapped it into my truck and ended up not working.
Have a report from Toyota diag that states its a good motor and with compression test numbers (190 across all 6), and have video of it partially-running in my truck.
Long story short, swapped the "wrong" motor in my truck. I swapped a Vacuum pump motor in, and my truck is originally a non-vacuum pump motor (aka electric master/brake booster, crawl control truck).

Did not know they weren't interchangeable before, until Toyota figured it out.
Comes complete besides exhaust manifolds and fan. Valve covers and oil pan have been resealed by me, along with swapping all my original sensors/misc parts onto this motor.

Asking $3000 obo in Kent, Wa, but should be able to deliver or meetup in most of the Pnw.
Can also ship for added cost of that.

Trades would be Ford 9" rear end stuff, bypass shocks (8" front, 14" rears), supercharger or procharger stuff (would add cash on my end), etc

    Motor pre-install into my truck:

Thanks, wasnt sure if you guys would delete this or not since the part isnt "removed" from vehicle yet, but might give me a chance since its kinda an important/hassle of a piece for the buyer to swap in, thus letting them here it run.

    Wow!
So non-vacuum pump motor = TRD Pro/TRD Off-Road (electric master/brake booster, crawl control truck) That should be a sticky post for folks to find and reference. I would have never thought!

Yup, I had no idea. When I was swapping it in, I just took the vaccum pump off, and put my factory block off plate on the head. Turns out, the cam is "hollow" on the vaccum pump models, and on the non-pump models, the cam is "closed" with a ball stuck inside of the cam. The vvti sensors were also slightly different, so I think on top of the cam being different, the vvti oiling setup/programming is a little different as well.

Wow, good info to know they’re different. I thought they were the same and one just had a vacuum pump stuck on it whereas the other did not. GLWS.

I tried swapping/checking everything on the motor besides the timing chain, and couldn't get it to run. Figured an hour diag at Toyota was worth the money, hoping they would find something stupid/easy. Thought they were joking when they told me I put the wrong motor in haha.

In theory I could swap the cam, but its much faster to just buy another motor and swap that in rather than rebuilding half of this motor in-truck.

This situation stumps me. I believe @Jeff Lange has said before that the engines are essentially the same, with one of them having the plate and the other having the pump. Doesn't affect OPs plan of removing and selling the vacuum pump motor, but it's good info for the general public to truly square away what the issue is in this instance and whether or not the vacuum pump matters or not.

Yup, identical motors, the cams are just different for each setup.

The cams are the same for both engines, but you're right, the sealing ball is only present in trucks without the vacuum pump. The ball is sold separately though, because like I said, the cams themselves are the same.

If you buy a cam for a truck without a vacuum pump, you're also going to need to order a ball and press it in, because it doesn't come with it.

    90360-10006 - Ball

Yeah, unfortunately I missed that you need the cover and the ball.

The camshaft position (VVT-i) sensors are the same for both.

So if he got the ball, he should be fixed up with the current motor?

Technically I could just swap cams with my old motor, but its alot easier/faster to just swap motors than to tear half the motor apart in-truck.

Heres the two different vvti sensors I have. Not sure how/if they perform different, but vaccum pump one on bottom, non-vaccum ontop. Same motor year
