Got my first Prime Ark Freedom Berry today, bigger than a quarter.

 

Wife got some free “jalapeño” seeds from a non profit seed distribution depository. Oops

 

Thai chilies?

 

Some kind of mild cayenne. Hot seeds sweet tips

 

Garden winding down. Put the tiller to the beans. Figs coming in.

 

Fried yellow squash

 

Corns germinated.

 

Had 1 good watermelon pulled it yesterday, abd some red potatos

 

Ate a handful of my elderberries for the first time in my life. Not really sweet and a bit herbaceous. Unsure.

Wife is growing 6 kinds of tomatoes I have to say the large yellow manilla tomatoes are amazing so much tomato flavor while being super sweet

Harvested some sweet peppers and pleased with criolla peppers great flavor still eating purple potatoes which are storing very well

 

Need to get some good nitrogen rich fertilizer with balanced P and K but all I can find is 2-2-2 or 10-10-10 or 2-8-2 or 28-0-0 or something to that effect.

Does anyone mix apply fertilizer or am I asking for trouble?

 

I've done terrible with my veggies since my designated waterer failed me when I was on vacation so this is the last of the haul this year.

 

Got any feed supply places near you? Tractor supply etc.

 

Elderberry are for most part tart... they do get a little sweeter after a frost if they last that long. The wild variety get a blueish grey color and are soft when you squeeze the berries. Still mostly tart though

 

Anyone have any ideas to what is spreading thru my berry patch, the leaves turn yellow and then brown?

 

Fungus. Hqve you had much rain?
Copper spray. If thatlt does not help, E20W fungucide.

 

Actually had a dryer than normal summer this year, been spraying Neem Oil without success. Thanks for the recommendations, will pick up some sort of fungicide to spray. As l was mowing grass today l noticed plants all over my property with the same problem.

 

Cleaned up up blackberries yesterday. It was HOT, 98, with humidity.
Cut out dead canes. Trimmed long canes to 7 ft and put back into trellis, tipped the rest, so they have a chance to bush out this fall, to maximize berry production next year.

2nd pic, vine on the left had started to root, so I put the end of it in the pot. Won't cut the mother vine till closer to planting. Putting up another 60ft of blackberry trellis this fall.

How dry? As in scorching hot? It could be heat stress, but it looks like fungus to me.
I use this on peaches, nectarines, blackberries.
