So, i sprayed some lock ease graphited lock fluid into my ignition for preventative maintenance in my stock 2008 6 speed taco. Now the cylinder will not turn whatsoever. It beeps when I insert the key, but it wont turn over despite turning the steering wheel back and forth. I’ve never had any problems before with the ignition. I figured some lock ease would be good for it, guess not. Any ideas out there?

Did you spray this product into the key cylinder? Like the hole that your key goes into?

Pretty sure that's what the O.P did.

Turn the wheel all the way to the left.
    ALL THE WAY……
Keep holding it to the LEFT.
    Then turn the key.

I used the snorkel and sprayed lock ease into the key hole. I have turned the wheel ALL THE WAY to the left and and kept holding it to the left and it still wont turn over. The blinking key light goes out and it beeps when the door opens with the key inserted. So I think its reading the chip key but it will not budge.

    How worn is your key?

Have you tried moving the steering wheel side to side while trying to turn the key?

Have tried calling it a POS and threatened to set it on fire?

It probably won’t help fix the problem.
But it helps me feel better sometime.

I tried the other chip key moved the wheel back and forth and still no luck. Im thinking about flushing it with WD40 as a next step. I live in a rural place and I don't want to have to get this thing towed over something so seemly simple.

You might try a small pick and rack it back and forth across the tumblers.
I have a lock pick set with a rake. But I’ve made a rake from an old hacksaw blade.

You either have a tumbler not moving far enough up, or it’s stuck too far up?

So, I fixed the seized ignition by spraying the key slot with compressed air. The key finally turned but it was rough. I kept working it and kept hitting the key slot with compressed air. I ended up slaying a some WD40 in the mechanism as I turned the key on and off. Finally I hit it again with compressed air and all seems well.

Most likely by spraying lube inside you forced dirt and grime down into the tumblers, and the WD-40 and air blew it out.Good for you O.P

This happened to me. I thought they cylinder was worn out. Turns out my only remaining original key was worn out

Remove the passenger door lock cylinder. There is a code on it that a locksmith can use to produce a new key
