Truck Camping Photo Thread

I picked up a MoonShade. Setup is a snap. A little pricey but worth it. You can attach it to the truck cab as well.

 

Will never camp because of this bloke

 

Looking at some foot-wear for upcoming excursion -
Just when you think it's safe to buy a pair of shoes you discover the bastrds are selling them 'by-the-foot',
literally, by-the-foot. Left or Right that is. What's next, a single sock? ...

 

CO, AZ & UT roadtrip to 9 national parks & 2 national rec areas. All amazing in their own right

 

that sounds like a great trip. love that shell with the windoors. have you considered using the truck bed and a platform to sleep in, instead of running a rooftop tent? i really enjoy my bed platform setup in the back of my long bed but wondering what I am missing not having a roof top tent instead.

 

Camping at Shelter Valley, Ca. You might notice how this guy got a desert scrub branch and bent it over from one side of the truck bed to the other to make his "tent"

 

Have a 1/2 bed platform. We’re a family of three, so two are in the RTT and one sleeps in the bed.

 

Love that clean setup you have back there! Looks like it's dialed in. I have two kids and sometimes think about going the RTT route for them and wife and I sleep below in the truck. When we go on trips as a whole family we currently pull a lightweight pop up camper that's big enough for all of us but towing and setup slows you down and sometimes becomes a chore, especially long distance trips with multiple stops. But it's so much space and has a heater, sink, and holds gear so we love it. When it's just two of us on an adventure, back of the truck is the way to go. Thanks for sharing

 

Thats's awesome. the thousands I've spent on this current truck, when I was in high school, I had a lawn chair and a thin blanket and would sleep on the beach as comfortable as ever.

 

Have you inspected the shell to see if it has rubbed on the bedsides or rear corners?

That’s the beauty of the RTT for us. Full setup/takedown is realistically less than 10 mins. By the middle of our last trip, shuffling between travel and sleep setup was like clockwork.

 

Haven’t observed any rubbing issues. Is this a problem for your setup?

 

No biting bugs must be nice.......;-)

 

OVS - 270LT. Has been outstanding. Used in sun/Rain and heavy winds on the Pacific Coast.

Only real issues has been an inconsistent zipper problem on the cover. But that is it.

 

sorry to have to sleep in the bed.

 

Rear driver corner of the bed has a little bit of clear coat rubbed off due to what I'm assuming is the bed flexing and rubbing against the shell.

 

Going back to Inks Lake for a third time sometime this month!

 

what box is that? how do you like it?
