1995 Toyota Tacoma

Question all,

My Tacoma has to be started with ether. It runs for roughly 20 minutes and shuts off. Any ideas????

Fuel pump has been replaced already

 

Yeah fuel and fire are first and easiest to check first......

one of those is getting cut......

I'd check battery, grounds, and alternator wires and connections first....
you may just be running on residual battery....


And when it dies ....pop off the the fuel return regulator hose and put on an extension hose, shoot the gas to the ground....
and should pour out gas when you crank....abundantly....

I agree it is a fuel issue might be the Circuit opening relay sounds like the crank contacts might not be working .

Being the cause of needing starting fluid to start .

Then either the relay or pump gets hot and quits.

 

What engine ?



Massive vacuum leak would do same thing....
even cracks in the canister......or booster....
its so lean its hard to start until the O2 sensors kick in....
