I’m confused why I have a locker.. 2010 SR5

From my research I’ve seen that the sr5 model can’t come with a rear locker. But I have the switch, warning sticker on the door, and have used it before. The previous owner didn’t say anything about putting one in, and I didn’t know any better when I bought it. I’m happy that I have it and all, but now I’m wondering if the tailgate was replaced and the sr5 decals were left on or something. No clue, thought I’d see if anyone here has any insight

 

SR5 models have them if they are the TRD offroad edition, otherwise maybe the PO added it if it’s not an off-road.

 

By the switch layout you have a TRD OffRoad, I know some of the earlier 2nd gen TRD trucks also had SR5 badges since the TRD package was essentially a package added to SR5 trucks.

 

Ohhhhh right! I’m just remembering sr5 is the interior and trim package right? So you can have a sr5 and trd off road?

 

Yep, you have a TRD Off-road. Check out the brochure on what else you have over the SR5 (like chrome rear bumper, towing package, etc.)

Newer (2012+ I believe) TRD trucks don't have the SR5 badges, my 14 doesn't.

This is such a win!!!! To think all this time you thought you only had an SR5 then to find out you’ve got the TRD Offroad package! Oh hell yeah!

Yup thats a TRD off road for sure.

You probably also have the atrac button below the climate control between the 12v outlets on the dash.

Does the locker light on the dash come on? Must be in 4Lo first.

yep! I have used it, light comes on and everything. Was just confused about my truck’s identity

 

Also... There would be nothing on the tailgate to designate it's a TRD off-road. Only branding for that would be stickers on each side of the truck towards the rear.

The give-away that it wasn't added on is the sticker on the door panel. I could see someone swapping in a locker and even a factory push-button switch. But highly unlikely someone would go to the trouble of swapping the door panel too

 

ah okay got it. Yeah the stickers had been taken off before I purchased the vehicle and the car fax didn’t say anything when I ran it. Good to know
