My '97 3.4L has been throwing the code P0125. It's been doing it, since the last time I topped off the coolant, due to my heater control valve leaking. I've been trying to chase it down. Since, it stated throwing the code, I replaced the heater control valve, made sure the system was bled, switched out the coolant temp sensor and replaced the connector and for the sensor. The connector was broken and I was hoping that was the problem. But the code is tripping. The only other thing I can think of left to do is swap out the T-stat. Any ideas of what else I can try, before I give up and take it to my mechanic?

The code description for P0125 is very misleading, it actually has to do with the O2 sensor not producing a signal when it should.

Interesting, come to think of it I think, I read that before, somewhere. Guess I will try that. I need to smog it in a few months anyway.

Going to swap out the O2 sensor(s) this weekend. From what I've read, it seems like it's the upstream sensor that's the culprit or should I replace both?

Code is for the upstream sensor which is the main one used for fuel control, downstream one is mainly used to monitor the caytyletic converter.

I'd just do the upstream one first and make sure that takes care of your issue.

That's what I was thinking, thanks.
