So how illegal is it to shoot firearms in the county on land that you do not own? I.e. at the end of a cul-de-sac towards a cow pasture with cows in it and houses on the other side.

 

Bad!!! Unless you are sure of back stops!!!!

 

I figured. I knew you couldn't shoot in the county on property that doesn't belong to you. I think I'll call the sheriff tomorrow. We drove to the cul-de-sac and confronted. Ended up being the next door neighbors dumbass kid that has about as much smarts as a rock under a bulldozer.
He literally drove away from the house to shoot back towards it.

 

Unless you have permission from property owner in writing or they are with you it doesn't matter what state or county it's bad.

 

They were shooting from the pavement also...

 

Considered hunting! If it's dark spot lighting game ( POACHING).

 

Actually they were shooting at a sign so that I'd assume is destruction of property.

Questionable, private property. Private road? Again questionable,who owns said road and signage.
Talk to dad let him know bullets with no back stop could hurt you kids/ animals/livestock.
Livestock very bad if shot too. But tasty

 

Unfortunately no "Dad". Mother has a boyfriend. This is a public road he was shooting from with new construction. He stopped after I confronted him and the 3 others with him. He just doesn't think. I had no idea it was him over there doing the shooting. Just happened to be him being a moron as usual. We did stop next door to let the "adults" know but there response was " yea, so?" We're just dealing with neighbors that could care less about anybody but themselves. Neighborhood was good before they moved in.

 

Sounds like a lot of places around here.

 

If he’s under a certain age the parent can be held responsible too.

 

How about shooting underage without supervision, sure that is something these days, but I'm not familiar with AL rules.

 

When I was young we carried rifles in gun racks in back windows and hunted groundhogs.
But times are different now
