I thought the Tundra had basically the same rack and pinion IFS setup, just a bit wider.

TBF I wish they never got rid of the solid front axle. I’m sure most of us can agree on that at least.

 

You'd complain about lack of comfort, the labor costs for rebuilding the front end, etc.

You've made mention about NVH regarding your truck.

 

Yeah the leafspring solid axle trucks rode like old chuck wagons, and the front end requires the exact same rebuild the LC needs which you've complained about before.

 

I've been contemplating cutting the roof of the cab so I can run a suspension seat lol

 

Lol Schoolbus recaro would be dope. I like my regular Mastercraft Suspension seat tho, it isolates well

 

oh god the bus seat would be killer. My head would be 2 feet above the cab though

I have some 90s Honda seats and they're OK but definitely leave me sore after a day on the trail. I'm not sure there's much else with a thin profile that would be more comfortable :/ even the seats out of the Sentra are too tall lol

 

True. Call a tow truck and ship it home. A couple drips is BAD news.

 

Speaking of seats, I want a set of FX16 GT-S seats

 

That looks like kind of a fun job actually, if I had a garage. It would’ve been cool if they made a little coil-sprung solid axle mini truck to compete with the Wrangler.

 

Lol it’s dripping pretty bad actually. At least overhauling the power steering seems like a pretty DIY-friendly job. I’ll just have to try and source all the OEM hoses.

 

Add an ejector seat in case you fall off a shelf road. I was thinking about that earlier on cinnamon pass.

 

I think it was from all the high ROMa going over the passes maybe. I also did see a bead of oil on the drain plug, so maybe it was a little loose. I tightened it up and don’t see any more drips.

It was apparently a used engine, so it’s possible it sat around for a while and has hardened valve stem seals. Compression is good, so I think the rings are ok. It also appears to have a seep from the oil pan or rear main seal.

 

On the bright side, I managed to summit Handies peak yesterday. My head was pounding up on the summit. Luna was a trooper, though.

No real hoses to deal with as lines aren't the issue

You will want to clean the screen in your reservoir since you're putting new fluid in afterward

 

I figured I might as well replace the hoses from the reservoir too. I’m bout sure if it has the same HP/LP setup as the Land Cruiser.

 

Maybe I’ll just have a shop do it, idk. It might be a little much for an apartment parking lot. I really wish I had a garage.

 

Fortunately it should be way easier

The LC has tons of room everywhere except when it comes to replacing any PS components
