I'm just seeing this sorry lol. Mine is a 2012 and I'm about to hit 60k on the odometer, and not a single issue. I love this bike. Traded my BMW for it.

Just got an email from HPTuners advertising that they can now tune Groms  Too bad it's as many credits as a full blown truck is.

I would like to know as well. What do track riders have against bark busters?

the no bark busters on MX tracks is typically as a safety precaution

the types of falls one may have on jumps VS the types you have bouncing off rocks and ripping single tracks

the fear is that if your on an MX track, and your hands come off on a landing, that your hand falls into the barkbuster and can in turn break your wrist and or forearm

most tracks are loamy dirt, nut much bark busting in the way either so... just easier to replace a lever and keep the added weight of armor off the mx bike

And also, I've you've ever had someone with busters catch your elbow in a turn, it usually puts and end to the day. I don't think it's an unspoken rule necessarily, just courtesy to fellow riders.

Makes sense. I can't imagine riding without them where I ride, would def have a broken hand if I did. I actually just had to freshen up my flags from abuse, and this is with cut bars

Yeah thats the last thing you want, scraping hard parts that dont fold lead to BAD things.

the rearset savers on the grom is more of stunt oriented piece of armor

I'm building this thing to learn to wheelie and drop without destroying everything in the process. I guess I can just remove these and reinstall the stock bolts if I ever want to drag knee.

Im right there with you. I wouldnt run my dirt bike without bark busters. They have saved me a few times from punching trees and cacti!

Those things are dangerous, at least imo. Dragging knee on a Grom is super easy. But not with those on there

    Any leaks on your 890?

The counter shaft seal on my 701 has been leaking since new. Apparently a common issue for the 690/701/890. The seal kit is back ordered until December but I found a dealer in CA that had a few in stock so ordered it.

Been having a blast on these two otherwise...

Sweetness! No leaks as of yet! I rode my bikes super hard, and over the years of owning so many, that type of maintenance has been just part of it. Some leak, some don’t.
