I have done the BHLM on my 09 tundra and had no issues with them. Took aprox 4 hours to complete.

Best paint by far is the Krylon plastic paint. No prep work is invloved. Just start with light layers.

I plan on doing BHLM and a retro fit this weekend. Failure is never a option for me.

I used the Krylon Fusion paint. There are just a few little nicks around the edges. Would you or have you put a clear coat on the bezel after you paint it with the Krylon? I did not read about anyone putting any on in the How-to write-ups so I didn't the first go around but was wondering if I should this time.

I put on 5-7 layers of paint until I was happy. I would make sure the outside temp is at least 65 and let the layers dry a little longer between applications.

Does anyone have pictures of the inner blinkers painted?

It was a little cooler the weekend I did it. It should be warmer this weekend. I did 3 to 4 coats. I am going to give them a few more coats. I tinted my blinkers with VHT Nightshades. I will post pics this weekend as soon as I get them done and get my truck cleaned up. Bugs are getting bad here.

Did the BHLM last Friday. I voted "Yes, and I screwed up".

I would consider my screwup minor though. I got a few good scratches revealing the chrome along the very outer top edge of the bezel on the DS. It was the 1st side I put back together, the P/S is freaking perfect. I shoulda stopped and checked before I resealed it but I was so damn focused on getting a perfect seal at that point I overlooked it.

All in all, I would call that a minor glitch. The oven went well, the procedure went well and resealing is looking good so far, 2 nights of mid 30's, a rain storm sunday night and a little more monday and I can't see any wetness inside the lens.

I'm going to keep an eye out for a cheap HL. I'm a little leary of actually reopening the HL, i'd rather see if I can't find another HL with a broken tab or something for $30 and do it again. I figure if anyone wants to say something about my little scratches I'll just invite them to put their headlights in an oven, paint them and put them back together for the 1st time without screwing 1 thing up.

Tint. (DONE) Soon to come. 3in Llift (OME) Color matched grill (DONE) BHLM (DONE) Tail tint (DONE) Pro comp rims (8069) End goal: Murdered out truck
I did the BHLM as my first mod and I rushed it i was just being impatient, sprayed the turn signal covers without thinking so its really hard to see my signals, should have just tinted them with VHT or something or left them alone. was a little rough reassembling the headlights so theres tiny pin point chips that annoy me so i'll redo it in the next 2 weeks. Wasn't awesome weather when I did it in the first place so like i said I rushed it but they still look good, however im a perfectionist so it will get redone and the turn signal cover will be tinted or taken out.

I ended up using Rustoleum plastic paint. Worked great. No prep needed. Only two things I screwed up were:

    1) I guess I put one back in too soon and there's a drip of black paint on the inside of the headlight.
    2) Both headlight clamps broke. I ended up using construction adhesive to hold them back in. If the bulbs ever burn out, I guess I'm buying aftermarket housings.lol On the other hand, in 12 years (knock on wood), neither headlight on my '99 went bad.

I did the BHLM at the same time I did my Morimoto D2S retrofit. I used the same OEM sealant and have had no problem.
