Yes and no, the residual worked about to about the same payment when you went to buy at the end of the lease. Great car for the money in my opinion. Sipped fuel, fun to drive and had some great safety features. You don't get 4x the car with the GR in my opinion.
I've learned my lesson on new cars. Back to my theme here, a clean low mileage R56 can be had for $12k. Makes more sense.

And to really show my biased, an aged AMG with the M156 engine is the best choice of all. 500hp for less than $20k, it's a no brainer.

Yeah I haven't seen the residuals on the higher end (or even the base) GR

It has only been in my experience that the higher-end trim packages had a higher residual which you'd just dump at the end of your lease when it was ready to turn in

Seems Toyota just made the sporty GR's less attractive to lessors and only gave the best residuals on the base GR

    Makes sense

Always a good sign when you have weights 180° apart on the same wheel...

    Yep

I just try to share any info I can when the topic's brought up

Mainly cause for a lot of us, we weren't informed during our upbringing

I mean before us, they were teaching you how to balance your checkbook in schools and shit

Us, we were becoming pro's at texting with our phone in our pocket or behind our back while in class

I was in that weird window where I was taught how to write/balance checks and then also had a phone....after we had beepers.

This was one of my favs:

Pretty sure you're younger than me?

The balancing a checkbook I bet is more based on where you lived I'm sure

I'd bet we're about the same age. (Might be a regional thing though)
Shit they still had home-ec for girls and shop for guys for part of the time I was still in school.

    oh god

They taught us how to balance a checkbook in freshman level computing class. Also butted heads with the teacher because I could type 90wpm with what she considered "improper techniques" lol

Lol definitely regional by the way your school had it

We had home ec as well as wood shop, but both sexes were able to partake in either

I had made a paper towel dispenser, mug (out of a liquor bottle we cut, we made the wood handle), and a few other things

Same, I had a teacher that insisted on proper form and I was easily copying documents above 75wpm. I told she wasn't worth it and switched to film as lit class instead. Screw you Jan Sayers if you're even still alive.

It was weird when you were better than the teachers in comp class haha. They did not like it.
I remember coming in one year and the room was filled with Performas. It was great.
