MOD - LED Bed Lighting Connected to Cargo Light / Bed Light Circuit

Zip. Harness has no juice I checked every connector

 

Probe to rear of connector (wire side) NOT receiving side.

 

I actually did the rear side first. Then hoping for a miracle did the switch side. Ugh.

 

Very odd.
On the Cargo Relay fuse. Probe to top contact (both) of fuse (7.5A) while fuse is in place. Other probe to chassis, voltage check.

 

Let’s put the brakes on this for a day or two. My relay will be in by then and we can then figure it out. Thanks for the reply !Fwiw. I have no idea why they would supply the harness but not have it hooked up on the other end. But I’m not alone from what I’ve read.

Cargo fuse juice supply is always "ON". (Battery)

 

Well it’s getting dark and like I said still need the relay. But the relay shouldn’t hold up the illumination. Have you ever “followed” the harness?

 

Yes, the relay(s) base can be removed to verify wires. The wires are long enough to manipulate and visualize the connections.

@caribe makaira the relay port does have power. But the relay is at the house. So that’s good news. I’ll see what’s what this evening when I plug it in.

 

@caribe makaira ok the relay finally came in and I have a lighted switch now. But it got dark on me and the wife with the dogs ugh.
Providing the relay powers the switch. Do I connect the door and “on “wires, to my one positive light wire? Would you have the colors of the wires I need to connect for convenience or the corresponding numbers?

Well the relay gets fused battery power, it has nothing to do with switch illumination.

 

Well I didn’t have an illuminated switch til I put the relay in. Exhibit A.

I don't know what to tell ya. The switch illumination is part of the dash (panel) circuit. And since you already verified that all other dash switches work n dim...

 

So I think I can use an add a fuse to the positive lead and tap into the blue wire. We will try that first. Thanks for your help car.
