    Hi All.

After owning my taco for almost 5 years, I think its about time to put some money into it. If i'm going to do that, I'm going to do it right.

    I have a 2006 2.7L 4x4 Access Cab, 5spd manual, with stock 245/75/16 on now

I've been doing a bit of research on here... and I read that the biggest tires you can run without any mods are 265/75/16. So with that in mind, i've chosen the following tire/wheel setup

    Cragar 397 Soft 8 16x8 6 lug 5.5in - 5 in back space and 18mm offset
DEFINITY DAKOTA A/T - P265/75SR16 (cheap at pepboys, buy 3 get one free @ $130)

I think my model is stock backspaced 5.5in, so this wheel should should be golden, right?

Can i run this setup without wheel spacers or a lift?

ok got the rims and tires, put em on, and the front wheel was on the caliper GOOD

We first tried 1/4" spacers. The wheel spun but was still hitting the caliper

Tried 2 1/4" spacers. Not enough stud for the lug to grab

I eventually had to put washers behind the spacers to clear the caliper just to get out of the service bay. I know i shouldnt drive on this for long...

SO I'm trying to figure out if I should go 1/2" spacers with longer studs or just get 1.25" adapters (smallest width i've seen).

    Any suggestions??????

    When I tired just a 1/4" spacer?

I didn't notice it when he spun the wheel, but the guy with his face right in front of the wheel said it was hitting. It did spin though..

No spacer. Will it even mount on to the hub?

The wheel was pressed up to caliper pretty good. The wheel didn't spin at all after the lugs were torqued

Do you know where on the caliper it was hitting?

On the face of the caliper...where that flat bar part of it sticks out.

Thanks for the post. The tech at the service shop recommended that but wasn't sure if it would go over well.

Yeah, it's been done but you have to be careful you don't get into the fluid passage. What are your plans now?

I'd rather not grind anything down. And since without spacers, the wheel was seized up on the caliper, i think i'd have to grind down too much. And i'd rather not grind AND have to use spacers

turns out longer studs are more expensive than i thought. and i dont know how to install studs. looks like you'd have to disassemble the rotor, which is beyond my mechanical ability (which is not much btw)

Looks like spacers are the most economical. Do you think these will do? ebay spacers . it doesn't say anything about hubcentric, but they are half the price of spydertrax

Should I just go for spydertrax?

They look ok (ebay spacers) to me. Spidertrax are gonna be the same (pretty much) except for the hub/lug centric and blue anodize. Maybe you should ask the seller what they are?
