Nice but too many, the vet bills alone would have me working again.

Was your Father in Law a Scripps Ranch Old Pro? His name sounds familiar. I've been on "The Ranch" for 38 years. We survived 2 fire evacuations in Scripps Ranch.

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!

The system has been working well @Oldie2007 , Kurt. Production hasn't been as high as it could have been because of the Canadian wildfires - July should have been a huge month for bankrolling credits but wasn't. Then, we've had a bunch of rain over the past month. Still, we'll come out OK for the year - our bills should be substantially lower in the winter, at least.

Morning all you people of the porch.
TV has been shipped. Should be here tomorrow late.
    Realized something last night.
Any tv with speakers sound like a tin can.
So, I have an old stereo in the shop with detachable speakers I need to get involved.
My plan is to build 3 shelves and move the radio and speakers.
Then, I have a 3.5mm/RCA cable I will cut up and extend to attach to the speaker connector.
I’m running out of outlets to plug into and I had double the usual number installed.
    I have solutions, lol…
Grandson being dropped off soon so going to be a lonnnnnnng day…

I’ll tell you how old this stereo is.
To plug the speakers into the head unit, there is no plug. It’s a set of spring clip connectors…

@BkerChuck Wow so many murals, TY for posting some of them. 20 years ago, it was a new, although old in form, art form. Now it is commonplace in many cities and towns. America has some outstanding artist.

@Tacoma Mike and @MQQSE Repurposing an old stereo is always a great money saver. If you are lucky there is an input jack to run audio from the TV to the stereo. You might want to look into a manual A/B switch for the speakers to switch from the stereo to the TV. I am sure you have the solution figured out.

Good morning. Yesterday was a long one. My cousin's husband had gotten worse quickly. The reality is That I cannot even take a lunch to him to have a lunch date. We have gone from eating at one of his favorite bayside restaurants in May to the point he is at now. He still receives therapy twice a week in home.

Today is my first music lesson in 3 weeks. It will be a struggle.

    Yea no input nothing..
    No a.b. switch.
Wire them all together and let er rip tater chip…
I’ll sacrifice the stereo for the speakers if it won’t work cause I can run music through the fire tv..

    Good Morning everyone!
    Have a Great Day.

@95SLE it's hard to watch a friend or loved one fail.

@Tacoma Mike good luck with the grandson hopefully he's old enough to do things with and enjoys hanging out with you. Changing diapers was never my thing, for some odd reason I'd get sick to my stomach. My wife was always, unsympathetic. On a better note good luck with the sound system, I still have my old Maranze I got when I was a teenager. It has spring clips for the speakers.

    Homemade 3.5mm Speaker Wire. LOL

    IMG_7146.jpg

Cold not have planned this any better.

Speaker barely fits into pocket in garage window reinforcement.
    So no shelf required.

    JK

One of my favorites for any electrical connection that sees weather is liguid tape. Seals better than anything I've found and is cheaper than any of the weather-proof shrink tube or connectors.

My rolls of duct tape and can of liquid tape are right next to each other.

It’s just to hold the wires together after I twisted them.

The house was built around 2005; he was the original owner.

After the fire, the HOA wanted everyone to rebuild identical houses. His house was a total loss, so they hauled off everything and started from a clean lot. He wanted a large master downstairs and bedrooms two and three upstairs. Lots of heartburn. He had a wicked sense of humor—Marines' can-do attitude. I got together with neighbors who were also fighting the HOA. He ran for the board, got his other neighbors to fill the slots, and approved all the new plans.

They were on Oakfort Pl—fire-resistant walls and roof. The fire department set up cameras as everyone was evacuated, showing the house combusted from inside due to high heat.

Devious, but don't mess with a Marine!

I’ll Telya, I don’t use my holiday light stapler very often but, when I do, it’s a mint installation.
