2001 3rz. Alternator bearing makes crazy bad noise. It destroyed my nerves. Comes and goes after rain blah blah blah. Anyway having a hard time finding a new replacement. Not remanufacture. Yall know where and what part number? No electrical upgrades on the truck just want another one that won't make noise for another 22 years

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along

Any Mom and Pop auto electrical shops close by have then restore your alternator to like new.

It seems the quality of most remanufactured electrical parts has really gone down hill.

I replied to your original thread but I have an OEM alternator which I recently pulled from my truck to install a high amperage unit. Let me know if you want it.

Holy crap the prices have shot up on these last couple years.

A reman denso one from Napa is like $240.....unbelievable.....

that's 150% increase in 2 yrs.......$30 more than what the new one was....

OP, why not just buy a high amperage alternator?

I know you said that you want something that will last, and I know you said that you don't plan on adding any toys to your truck; still, though - why not just go the high amperage route?

Remanufactured units aren't always reliable, and they're pricey.

You can buy my alternator - sure, it's OEM but there aren't any other advantages to it.

A high amperage unit isn't cheap but your truck will perform better and you will have more options.

    Just my friendly two cents.

sorry to steal the conversation, but when do y'all recommend upgrading alternators? I have a 450w amp, and 2 Baja Designs ditch lights, and 2 Baja Designs chase lights, wondering when I should consider an upgrade if I want to add more

I agree with upgrading to a higher amp alternator, but if you insist keeping it stock OEM you can buy a alternator rebuild kit (ebay/Amazon) for $50 or $60 bucks and rebuild yours. Its not that hard and comes with new bearings, diodes, rectifier and brush kit, fun little project you can do on the work bench.
