although high heeled hookers and booze would make for a better story, my truck took some damage from Colorado hail. The cover makes it look worse but overall the hood and roof have far less dents than the cover. Not enough to make a claim, yet.

I used to repair aircraft hail damage with dry ice. Steel is harder but, as thin a gauge as they use these days, it should work.

How do you repair it with dry ice? Just apply the dry ice to the dent? I’ve got a cold food shipment coming and they normally send it with dry ice. I’d like to try your method out on some dents on the hood

I would rub the ice from the center outward and tap inside with a small ball peen hammer. When you get it right, you'll get a satisfying "ping" when it pops out!

The ECT button and I have a love hate relationship. Anyone got a mod for singling it out so I don’t stumble around fat fingering the area trying to hit the right button in the dark?

Only thing I can think of that doesn't take re-wiring the dash uses a Corvette mod. They have an aftermarket remote receiver for the fuse panel that operates the exhaust cutouts. It just goes in instead of the fuse and cuts the circuit with the remote. If you could isolate the fuse for the ECT, (and it doesn't operate more than one system) you could use that I think. If you turn on the ECT, I believe you could de-activate it with the remote as required.

I think this one might work. I had one in my C6 Grand Sport and it worked well.

I guess if the fuse doesn't work, you could cut one wire from the switch button and wire this receiver inline. You would need switched 12v source and a chassis ground. That would probably work too.

The DS18 tweeter upgrade made an unbelievable difference. Really makes me want to add a subwoofer.
