aftermarket gauge installation

    New guy here. Actually the truck is my wife's. I am getting her some after market gauges. Water temp, oil pressure and volt meter. She has the 2007 prerunner with the 4 cylinder engine. Just curious if anyone here would know where the sending units for these gauges are put.

    There is no sending unit for oil pressure you will have build that from scratch. Toyota does not monitor oil pressure.

    I use the Torque app and either my phone or Android based head unit. Scanguage as mentioned above works great too. Neither of which will get you oil pressure since it's not part of what Toyota measures, aside from an idiot light sensor. If you want oil pressure you'll have to add a sensor. Shouldn't be too hard to place it in between the stock sensor and the block though.
