Can the H9 mod be reversed if we decide to do an OEM LED swap? I thought I would try the H9 mod to see what I thought before taking the plunge into the OEM swap.

Put the green plug back into the harness, put the H11s back. It is just a headlight bulb sawp.

Basically, that’s why these seem like a $83 waste of money. I wish I saw this article before putting them in. There’s blind spots , bright spots , and the adjustment screws on the assembly seem useless. Novsight

Would be nice to see a real test between stock halogens, H9's and stock L.E.D.'s with an over head view showing spread, distance and light meter readings.

You wanna know why you never see this? Because it's virtually impossible to do in a meaningful, scientific way, plus you'd have to have access to an overhead crane and someone who actually knew how to shoot comparative photos which take into account the limited dynamic range of even higher end cameras where the tonal response to existing light is nowhere linear compared to how we humans perceive the same scene, which is also why nearly all posted photos of headlights, light distribution patterns, beam cutoff images, etc., are all misleading at best and at worst totally irresponsible.

There are plots available of many automotive lighting setups where those maps will give you a pretty good idea of light distribution, but they are not exactly straightforward to interpret but they do give you actual light readings at different distances throughout the beam pattern of projected light. Reputable vendors often will have those plots on their websites but they can still be hard to find.

Tower, tall building or maybe drone may work and that said, a picture of a lit up garage door does little. Thanks for the input !

Those novsight LEDs I posted above were horrible (here’s a pic of the light they threw) in my light assembly I’m sending them back. I put in some halogens ($34) that throw nice even light now. The new assemblies make the 09 look new anyway

Five year old Xenon Depot 4300k HID kit is still going strong on 2018 Tacoma ranch truck with over 250K hard miles. No ballast or bulb issues and I am not using relays. Illumination is better than stock halogen bulb and I do not have that deep blue light hue found on lowered Civics.

As many have mentioned, aftermarket LED light throw distance is poor. Nothing compares to OEM LED headlights.

Yes, just put h11s in, technically no changes necessary to go back.

If it's the Hikari "eye of megatron" bulb then crash has tested it and it's one of the more decent ones. Check out his linked thread for more info.

I ran the hikaris in my high beams for many months and liked them there. No increases in projection distance though but the width of the high beam hot spot felt a hint wider and I liked the immediate on and "whiter" light. I put a thread out on this a while back
