For Sale: 2004 TRD OffRoad M/T. 176k with BedCap.
Location: Rosendale NY 12472 (the Hudson Valley)

Went to test out a suspicious spot on my 04’s frame and found that the frame in the rear passenger side has rotted from the inside out.

Everything else is in great shape. I am the 3rd owner. The 2nd owner had the truck for the majority of its life and kept meticulous notes, which I have.

Truck has:
176,xxx Miles
Manual Trans
New Rear Differential from East Coast Gear Supply
New Rear Differential Cover
New Rear Leaf Springs, Shocks and Shackles
New Downstream O2 sensor
New Valve Cover Gasket
New Trans Case Fluid
New Front Stabilizer Bushing
New Drive Belts
New Rear Passenger Wheel Bearing
All new belts

White Bed Cap - the rear window does not lock
Drop-in Bed Liner
Tires are in great shape
Clutch is in good shape. Every things shifts well. Engine is in great shape - oil has been changed religiously (I have all of the records).

The known issues are:
Frame rot over rear passenger tire
A/C expansion valve needs to be replaced but A/C still blows cold most of the time
I smoked two cigars in it Pick up required. At the moment, I’m not interested in parting it out.

Also, I’ve hammered everywhere else on the frame. This was the only spot the hammer went through.

 

This would be in my driveway if you were closer.

 

There any rust on the body? Rocker panels? Chips or Dents?

 

There is one dent on the driver side rocker panel. You can kind of see it in the picture. If you’d like, I can upload a detailed picture tomorrow.

The clear coat is a peeling in one place. Its been that way long before I bought it. I havent seen rust on the body but I will look with more detail tomorrow and post pics of what I see.

A friend of mind offered to fix it for me. I'm keeping it for the moment. But I may put it up for sale again after the frame is fixed.
