    I haven't been to Everett's since I had my 1st Toyota Pickup.

I'd be shocked if they had any Tacomas. Their cars were typically 10+ years old and I don't think I ever saw a Toyota Pickup in there. I saw a few 4Runners (which is where I got my clock).

In late high school / college I would go in there probably 2-3x a week looking for rare OEM accessories for my Accord. I think one summer I mad $300-400 just flipping parts.

EDIT: $400 doesn't sound like much, but when I was making $6/hour it was all the money. It was guilt free money to dump back into the car.

Ouch... I bought at the beginning of COVID, when dealerships couldn't move vehicles. That price is about what I paid for my 1 year old crew cab diesel F250 with 20k miles on it. Absolutely nuts that's what a 2021 Tacoma cost now...

    Dear Jesus.

So I googled "2021 tacoma trd sport access cab for sale" to find a bunch of listings, I figured I'd find a ton in the 30-32 range and send a link and say "It's not what a 2021 tacoma costs now" or something snarky like that.

    https://www.carfax.com/Used-2021-Toyota-Tacoma-TRD-Sport_x47798

    Hot damn.

Absolutely nuts that's what a 2021 Tacoma cost now...

It's been some time, I want to say I saw a couple there maybe 2 years ago but if so they didn't have what I needed (tails). Before that probably been a few years.

I haven't been there in a few years, but Everett's had two sections. One was the Pick-A-Part where you could walk in around and find what you needed. The other was the closed part which customers were not allowed into. That's where the good cars and trucks were kept. The you pick it part has cars that are pretty much picked over.

One thing I hate about those yards is always some people walk up trying to bum tools. Get your own..

I must look anti social, because no one ever asked to borrow my tools. ;) I carried a tote tray with what I would need. I haven't needed to do that in close to 20 years as my kids are grown and don't have any shit boxes for me to fix. Well, my son has a '11 Pre Runner that I some light maintenance on when I'm down there. Mostly replacing the USB ports that I added for him as he seems to smash them after a year or so. Wiper blades too because he never replaces them and it drives me nuts.

There used to be a place in Freetown, but they had really old cars when I was there in that same twenty years ago time frame.

I am the same but still happens. Was soft enough to let a lady borrow my flathead driver once as it was in my hand havning just finished. She comes back "you don't have the other kind too?" I politely took my flathead back and snarled at her before walking away..actually had the balls to tell me I was rude

My F-150 just rolled over 70k and I usually would have traded it by now. But prices are nuts, I'd be $20k higher than what I paid in 2020 to get roughly the same thing - not to mention interest rates, mine is 0%.

I just changed every fluid, all spark plugs, filters, and belts. Also bought new Blizzak DM-V2s for my winter wheels. I figure those investments will push me to keep it longer.

Cars and houses are the same way. People are holding on to what they got with a death grip because of cost and interest rates. Driving supply lower and demand higher, so prices even higher. I can relate on the house side of things, we could in theory be looking to go from our 'starter' home to another one now, but, why? 2.6% and our house is almost double what we paid for it. So, the next 22 year olds looking for a starter home gotta look elsewhere. But all the starter homes are being bought by instagram flippers and are bookoo $$$. Cars are the same. A new one is 10K up from what it was a while back, and rates are higher, especially on used cars, so people will spend a bit more on maintenance and keep it. Now the high school/college kid looking has to look older/higher mileage for the same cost, because people are hanging onto cars.

    HAPPY DEATH SPIRAL FRIDAY! :drunk:
