I personally would because the front wheels sticking out further than the rear looks unfinished to me. Im not a fan of wheel spacers but I don't think it will cause any damage.

    Well I couldn't find a 2023 TRD Pro that they weren't asking less than 5k over MSRP so I bought a 21.

I would like to buy nice looking UCA's that don't need to be greased every 3 to 5k. Any suggestions?

I know this is an older thread but, stock with 285/75r16's. No rub after light trimming in the front.

True dat. Slee Offroad recommended SPCs due to how much sand and clay CO has, I'm SO glad I got those.

Which reminds me, I still have a new set of Icon UCAs to get rid of, never even fully unboxed 'em.

Did you cycle front suspension or just drove around on pavement?

I never cycled them, just drove around on some medium terrain at our farm. So to say they will never rub is bs, I can make them rub if I wanted to. I would call it a light-meduim trails setup. Hope that helps.

New member. Just put a deposit on a 2023 trd pro. I read most of the posts and didn't really see anything on gearing. How are these trucks with stocks gears after 33s.

I can only imagine highway speeds with hills would be not the best as I find my 266/75/16’s load range E not the best in this situation

I don't know how many times I've seen this posted, but it's quite simply inaccurate for allscenarios. I don't post this to offend you, but to inform.

First of all, simply saying " 33's " is somewhat arbitrary. A 285/75/16 is not truly a 33" tire, (32.8 something IIRC) while I think a lot of folks with 17"s opt for a 285/75/17 which is roughly 1" bigger, but a true 33.xx tire. So defining our terms is important when discussing " 33's ".

That being said, I have " 33's " (285/75/16) mated with the TRD Pro wheels of 2019. My truck is lifted 2" and has ICON Tubular UCA's and I have no rubbing anywhere. I have numerous off road trips doing trails I had no business doing and I always look at the cab mount after the trip to see if I rubbed. I do not. As others have made note of, a good alignment with as much positive caster as possible can be the solution for many of us. Wheel selection also plays a part in this discussion. The PRO wheels have a +13mm offset which seems to be ideal for this setup. A negative offset would change the arc of the tire swing, potentially putting in you in contact with the cab mount.

As has been discussed, install and testing on your specific truck is really the only way to know.

Friend of mine has a solar octane pro with 265/75r16 duratracs and I think it looks proportionate. 285’s are nice but if you do highway driving often I’d stick with 265/75, which is a little bigger than stock and a more aggressive tire looks bigger as well.

Lots of variables: terrain, elevation, tire/wheel weight, etc. Also the manuals at 4.3 vs auto 3.91 gear too. I have 285/75/16 with SCS wheels on my manual and it feels the same at the 265/75/16 with OEM pro wheels. Both sets weigh the same too.

Highly Recommend Duras: I’m running 265/75/R16 Duratracs (C Load) on TRD Pro wheels / they look proportionate on my 2022 OR with factory lift no rub, no moding at all necessary at full turn ( have not rock climbed so can’t speak to rubbing there) trail use fire roads etc. fine. Also Fine on the Highway under 80mph.

Rubbing the billet uca at full lock? I'm going 255s, I've seen how my brothers trd sport did in the snow with 255s compared to my colorado on 35s. I was embarrassed

I second 255/80R17, true 33" no rubbing, if there is, it is unnoticeable, although I haven't tested with the suspension fully compressed. Decent selection of tires, granted all Light Truck. So tough, but heavy AF.

All Terrain tires use a 2-3 ply shoulder for flexibility, it is not 10 ply all the way around.

I would have preferred 235/85R17, but the only available options are Mud Terrain

The rims I got have an offset of -24, and are 7.5" width and have decent clearance in the wheel well without modification when steering lock to lock.

I wish, i don't want to ditch the stock 16" pro rims so I'll test out geolander mts. I don't like the weight of the st maxx and its really the only at option. I have a hard time believing he's not rubbing the stock uca with 285s on that pro.
