Check your grounds in and around your engine bay. Had something similar happen and a bolt on the intake manifold with some wires was loose, tightened it up and to this day, no issues.

of course after a tow to the stealership the service department found the culprit after about 2 hours.

I did ,I tighted the bolt but it does have power steering fluid or something on it. MAYBE not getting contact, is that possible to cause not start and ecu to not respond

The OBD does have its own fuse, have you checked it?

I had a bad ECU on my 96 and had to replace it with a used one to read codes. I understand it’s more common on the 95-97s, but it’s still a possibility, especially if you have water leaking in somewhere.

The MIL/ CEL still lights when your ignition switch is in run?

Did you double Check your code reader will connect on other vehicles?

How long have you been attempting to start?

Has the battery discharged to the point The ECM has gone into hibernation?

Plenty of fuel in the tank??

If that's good (I'm assuming your powering up the IGN Fuse 7.5A?) then you need to go the the ignition switch and check for power in on Pin 7 (White/Red) and out (with the key in the run position) on Pin 6 (Black/Red).

I don't see why not, I would reccomend putting a fuse in your jumper wire though just in case something shorts.

Just wondering. If it works with switch from battery to inside fuse box ignition fuse .does that mean a short some where between battery and that ignition fuse

I'm thinking failed ignition switch, that's why I wanted you to check power in and out of the switch as that's where the IGN fuse get's it's power from.
