Sounds like you need to make a lot of that. However, there's stiff competition. I have yet to have a Buffalo chicken dip better than @TwistedTLM4

In. Sounds like a day of sitting around camp and day drinking. I'm not wheeling anyway so have fun I'll sit with team pig.

We can smoke some tofu for them.

I've actually done it before, it comes out meh. Kinda gets a leathery effect.

Lightly smoked fruits and veggies work out better - zucchini, pineapples, bell peppers, delicioso

Look we'll put whatever the hell you want on the smoker. We'll smoke your cigars and then you can smoke them. Smoked spam? Done! Smoke the bacon and then put it in mac and cheese made with smoked cheese and then smoke the mac and cheese? Not a problem!

I remember someone talking about smoking water for ice cubes. Haven't brought myself to try that one yet...

I mean this in a nice way. Nasty. There's such a thing as too much smoke. It's relatively difficult to accomplish with real smoke but you go with liquid smoke and :puke:

I have a few recipes to try out before this before I commit to anything. 99% chance I'll bring salsa.

So the smoker operator is in.

I gotta source a pig now. Anyone have a rough guest count? Thinking a 100lb pig should be enough.

Also, echoing the request for an approximate number of heads based on history and turnout so I know if I need to smoke 8lbs of chicken or 80 lol

The potluck meal happens Saturday night after the raffle. Pick your favorite dish or appetizer and bring that.

Past experience says that you don't need to bring enough for everyone. Make enough to feed 10-15 people and that should be plenty with all the options that are available.

We're there Thursday night. Usually the whole shebang is Saturday night.

Honestly - just bring what you're best at making, or don't bring anything. There's usually plenty of foods, and it's been a mix from the two times I've been there. Adobada, smoked cheeses, steaks, dips, just a whole mash of signature dishes.

Myself and the smoker guy are thinking at least 100lb pig.. so we'll probably feed everyone else at the campground as well.

Edit: There's usually a BS session on Friday night around a campfire, then the main dinner is Saturday night.

Last year I think a lot of folks didn't get in till late on Friday though. The whole event is a little fuzzy to me tbh. Something about whiskey..
