Not sure if everyone has heard, or cares for that matter, but AT&T bought out T-Mobile yesterday for $39 Billion.

I dumped AT&T years ago for very poor customer service, excessive service charges and a generally poor signal.. I decided to go with T-Mobile at that point of time and I have been a very happy camper since then. I currently have a Nexus One under contract with T-Mobile and I absolutely love this phone, especially due to it's lack of "crap ware". When my contract is up with this phone, I for one will not renew my contract with the "New AT&T".

I personally have 2 comments to make:
1.) Thanks T-Mobile for a great ride, while it lasted.
    2.) Bl0w me AT&T!

Anyone else out there with a similar situation? How do feel about the T-Mobile SELLOUT?

    Let's hear from you!

    .

I have had a cell since about 1985 and have been with AT&T since they started in the cell business.

With that said ... I was ready to jump ship to T-Mobile until the news broke today.

Now ... I am stuck with going with the "other thug on the block", Verizon ... I guess ...

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
It has to be approved first by Federal Regulators.

    It's looking like a 12 to 18 month process.
I read another article today that T-Mobile customers will have to dump their phones because they will not work on the new AT&T network.
    That really sucks!

LOL ... I just noticed the "quote" in your signature.

"The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

I have seen this quote several times and I think that others have said that perhaps George Carlin coined it. ...

Great to see that quote again ... lol ... :D

im a verizon customer but its just not living up to my expectations. my house is a straight dead zone but my friend with sprint gets decent reception.

also, why can we only send 160 characters to non verizon customers when they can send as much as they want? just split it up over multiple texts like they do! the fact that my girlfriend has verizon and id never hear her stop bitching about the character limit is why im staying put.

sprint is just so much cheaper (their unlimited plan is like half of verizons) and they still have decent phones. im not interested in an iphone so thats not an influence

It's only a matter of time that only 2-3 big companies own all of the cell phone market.

I have been thinking Sprint as my next carrier. Guess we will see when this all shakes out.

Sprint is alright...I've had problems with their lower level customer service since they almost always mess things up, but their upper level customer service always made things right.

More recently, since they haven't been losing as much customers as before, they're just as bad at royally screwing issues up, but the upper level people seem mostly ineffective and very unapologetic at fixing things.

That's probably a training issue. Easy to fix.

I'm not 100% sure on this but I don't think T-Mobile users would have to dump their phones. I'm sure they will have great incentives to buy a new at&t phone. But a simple process called unlocking your phone can be done also. I worked in the black market cell phone business a few years ago. We use to unlock Mexican cellphones that where gsm and sell them in other countries to be used by a different carrier. So if at&t and T-Mobile are both gsm then there's no need to be throwing away your old phones.

Oh, yeah. Not A Fan. I just got an ad from AT&T today that went straight in the trash. No, I do not want one of your overpriced phones for "free" with the sale of my soul for a dataplan that is overpriced and unreliable. KMA. My T-mobile contract is up in November, still locked in at the price things were 6 years ago when I first started with them. Whatcha wanna bet AT&T won't honor it if I wanted to renew? Time to go hunting for new provider.

Been with AT&T for years!!! And the only time I have problems is in my house( dead zone) and no cell service works in it.

    I love AT&T

I would have stayed with them too if it weren't for all the issues I had with them. This whole thing just pisses me off because I know how it will end up. There are a lot of T-Mobile customers out there who are really upset with all of this.
